Re: How Do You Change Your Contacts in the Way They Show in Section Index?

2020-05-27 Thread Arlene
Carolyn, we could write off list about this, but there's some discouraging
aspects about the kyozera phones, that might be what your friend is having
trouble with. As far as I know the cadence and the dura xv are set up pretty
much the same way that I could point out to you. I wish that verizon was
still selling the lg exalt, which is a whole lot better, but of course you
could still text with the cadence and the dura xv. I did find out that
there's a new dura xv extreme so I don't know if some areas of the text to
speech were improved. I hope i could get to see it in the store some time
soon. Feel welcome to write me off list, or I'll write to you.

Esther, possibly someone may have answered your question already about the
kyosera dura xv which is a flip phone, it's one of the more rugged flip
phones that costs about $264. and it's amoungst some other phones that are
quite accessible with the text to speech. Especially when it comes to
writing texts, emails, and writing in the notepade since you could easily
get to the options for the lower case letters, upper case letters, for the
symbols, and numbers.
I have the cadence, another flip phone made by kyozera and never had any
loss of contacts.
As far as our iPhones, they each have 300 contacts and never lost any of the
contacts.

six or eight hundred or something like that. I guess you know, that you can put
all four fingers at the bottom of the screen to see how many contacts you have?

To get the first name first, I went to Contacts in Settings, and I think
the last entry was where I set them. There were two parts to it, and I think I
had to experiment to get it right. Fortunately, when I got my new phone,
everything imported like I had it.

I like first name first as well. I've also heard different theories on how
many contacts you should have on your phone. Someone told me you should only
have 100, well others said you could have as many as possible. I would like to
know what you folks think. Some of my disappear and I have to re-enter them. I

That setting is under settings, contacts.
Do you want it to alphabetize by last name, but show first then last in
the list?
That used to be the default, but check in your settings to be sure.

That setting is under settings, contacts.
Do you want it to alphabetize by last name, but show first then last in
the list?
That used to be the default, but check in your settings to be sure.

RE: How Do You Change Your Contacts in the Way They Show in Section Index?

2020-05-26 Thread Carolyn
I have 204 contacts right now. I have a friend with a Kyocera Dura, and it is
so annoying that she loses contacts, and she has only about 25-30. I'd be
calling Apple and complaining if I lost contacts. I probably wouldn't if I had
six or eight hundred or something like that. I guess you know, that you can put
all four fingers at the bottom of the screen to see how many contacts you have?

To get the first name first, I went to Contacts in Settings, and I think the
last entry was where I set them. There were two parts to it, and I think I had
to experiment to get it right. Fortunately, when I got my new phone, everything
imported like I had it.

contacts you should have on your phone. Someone told me you should only have
100, well others said you could have as many as possible. I would like to know
what you folks think. Some of my disappear and I have to re-enter them. I don't

Re: How Do You Change Your Contacts in the Way They Show in Section Index?

2020-05-26 Thread Esther
I like first name first as well. I've also heard different theories on how many
contacts you should have on your phone. Someone told me you should only have
100, well others said you could have as many as possible. I would like to know
what you folks think. Some of my disappear and I have to re-enter them. I don't
know what causes this. Thanks everyone. Esther

RE: How Do You Change Your Contacts in the Way They Show in Section Index?

2020-05-26 Thread Carolyn
I like mine first name first. The best I remember, in Contacts in Settings,
there are two settings that have to be set to make this work. I'd have to fool
around with it to make it work, but, first name first is definitely my
arrangement of choice.

If I find myself in my contacts and I want the section index, I just go to the
left with one finger until I hear it say section index and then swipe down with
one finger until I come to the letter I want.

First, go to the top of the screen, swipe right till you hear, "section index".
flick down until you hear the letter of the alphabet you want, double tap on it

what problems do you have with it? It works, as far as I know, the same way

First, go to the top of the screen, swipe right till you hear, "section

double tap on it and you are taken to the header for that letter. Swipe
right to the contact.

Do any of you have problems sometimes with Section Index just going into the

Personally, I've not had any trouble with the section index. However, if it is
not working correctly for you then you can accomplish the same thing using the
search feature in contacts. Just double tap it and put the first one or two
letters in and you should see results associated with those two letters.

Re: Section Index.

2020-05-11 Thread Marie
I don't understand what you mean. If you are using it in the contact app,
where should it put you?

That is what I always have done in Section Index. Now, half the time, it
puts me in my Contact List.

what problems do you have with it? It works, as far as I know, the same way
it worked when first introduced and on every phone I have used.
First, go to the top of the screen, swipe right till you hear, "section
index". flick down until you hear the letter of the alphabet you want,
double tap on it and you are taken to the header for that letter. Swipe
right to the contact.

I have no issues whatsoever with this feature.

Do any of you have problems sometimes with Section Index just going into the
regular contact list? With some 200-odd contacts, it is a little annoying,
especially, since I had gotten so used to just using Section Index.
