result could be a missed ride. i can't take that chance.

Unless you are getting such calls constantly ... it's not hard to turn on,
and toggle off until you've got
Here is an example of how it was useful last night.
I woke up at 5AM, which is pretty standard for me.
I checked my phone for email, but noticed there was a notification from the
phone app.
I checked, and there was no VoiceMail, but there was a recent call from an
unknown caller at 11:38 PM last

If you put your para transit phone number into your contacts, that call will
go through. That’s actually better than having the carrier do it, because they
probably will screen it out as a Robo.

My paratransit provider makes a robocall to let you know that the driver has
arrived. This is often flagged as unknown caller. If that call doesn't
come through, I miss my ride.

Probably so, since it cannot know that this one unknown caller is important
and you can't know which numbers to add to your contacts in advance.
That is why it is an option.
In your case, and others, probably not a good thing.
i have experienced that legitimate calls are sometimes flagged as unknown
caller or scam likely.
