Subject: iPhone se has stopped talking

Morning, please can someone suggest what I should do. My iPhone SE 20 has just
suddenly stopped talking. I have asked Siri to turn voiceover off and on again
but still absolutely nothing. I can find out what it says because I can read
the braille display. it is not even clicking as it goes. any help would be
appreciated. Janet

Re: iPhone se has stopped talking

2020-09-29 Thread Kimberly
My phone did the exact same thing yesterday while my Bluetooth braille display
was connected. Mine was not a volume problem as this was the first thing that I
tried to recover voiceover. I didn’t get VoiceOver back until I turned off the
braille display so I think it was the Bluetooth hijacking the audio as someone
in this thread proposed. It’s a weird and interesting problem and can be a
little nerve-racking when it happens.

MySuggestion to Resolve YourIssue:

Hi Gordon, I never thought of the volume because just occasionally I got normal
voice and then it would just go off again. isn’t it funny how a lot of the
time it is something so obvious like that. thanks again, Janet

You're very welcome. Yeah I've saved the day for many people over the past few
years. I don't know why 0 volume is no speech. If you use Alex he's really low,
but you can still hear him. But all other voices are silent.

Re: iPhone se has stopped talking

2020-09-28 Thread Gordon
You're very welcome. Yeah I've saved the day for many people over the
past few years. I don't know why 0 volume is no speech. If you use Alex
he's really low, but you can still hear him. But all other voices are
silent.

First: try the up volume button on the side. If that doesn't work,
there's a chance you could have accidentally turned the volume down in
the rotor. Turn the rotor and flick up once each time you turn it. If
that rotor volume is set to 0, you wont have speech unless you're
using Alex for some reason. If the rotor volume is all the way down
you'll eventually get speech when turning it and flicking up once for
each time you turn it. A lot of people have done this before by mistake.
