Hi nancy,
Check the archives for Thermostat and you will find a bunch of posts as
this has been discussed on Viphone quite a lot in the last year or so.
I use several thermostats both in my business and at home from
www.RadioThermostat.com. You can buy them on the website for I think $139
Ed,
I don't have any personal experience with the apple thermostat but if you
are referring to the Ness (maybe wrong spelling) thermostat, others have
posted that the IOS app is inaccessible.
Based on feedback I got from other users on the list, I recently purchased

I don't believe Apple makes such a device.

this device and, if so, what was your experience with the unit. Thanks a lot.

Hi,
there’s also a thermostat that can be interacted with via an app through
A.D.T’s pulse service which automates many things around the home including
their security services, thermostats and lighting.
I’ve no affiliation just a customer who can verify that the app is accessible.
It’s just one
Shane,
I bought my thermostats on Amazon, Brett bought his at Home Depot.

Hi Paul,
I don't know anything about this Puls system, but why bother with something
which may require an account and possibly even one that has a monthly cost
attached to it if you can buy a thermostat for $99, get it installed and
then download a free app which is fully accessible to control
Robin,
How much configuration with the thermostat can you actually do with the IOS
app? Can you create and edit programs and control all of the features of
the thermostat?
Thanks.

Yeah that's what I was hinting at by asking the question.
Does the thermostat talk or is it fully meant to be programmed through the app?

I would imagine that it could if there was the right electrical hookup.

Paul, Shane and Hope,
Brett posted this in his message and you really do get the most information
by reading up about the details on the website. Here it is again:

Does the thermostat still function if WiFi is stopped? Or, if folks
Hi Keith,
The thermostat works just like a normal digital thermostat if there is no
WiFi, but then you just don't have any way to control it remotely. Somebody
could still set it for a low temperature when away for a longer time to keep
anything from freezing or, for that matter, could have

You're probably thinking of the Nest and Apple had zero to do with it.

Actually the NEST thermostat was developed by a previous Apple
employee/engineer. I can't remember who it was though. But when I first heard
about the NEST I downloaded their App and created an account on their Web site.
I then contacted them about the inaccessibility of their app. The response
So then who cares, if Nest is not accessible and if the devs are not

Hi folks, this might be slightly off topic, but I was wondering whether
anyone has purchased a thermostat for their home that has an iPhone app that
is accessible that gives you control of the unit? Any direction is
appreciated.
Thank you,
