  Hi All,

Running iOS 17.4.1 on an SE2022 iphone. I went to the App Store to check
for updates and found that I had 16 updates available. How can I set-up my
phone so that I don't have to insert my password for updating apps? I had to
insert my password 4 different times to update these 16 items. All input is
greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

Re: App Store and Updating Apps

2024-04-24 Thread Mike B.
Hi Chris,

I've never configured Screentime, but I just went in and turned off Content
and privacy restrictions. In Touch ID and Passcodes these settings were all
off, but your note about downloading apps using various Apple ID's
definitely applies in my case. Since everything checks out okay this must
be the culprit. Thank you very much for your input.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Go Dodgers!

I have never had to enter a password to update an app.

After doing some research into this, I found out a couple of things.

For one person, they turned off screen time in settings, and this allowed
them to then download app updates without having to enter their password.

I do not know if this setting is still there since I do not own an iPhone
SE, but one person reported that going to settings, Touch ID, and turn off
iTunes and Apps fixed their issue with updating apps.

I do not know if it will apply in your circumstance, but the biggest cause
to this that I could find is when people had apps on their phone that was
downloaded with multiple Apple IDs.

Wish I could have found a definite fix, but hopefully one of the above will
help your issue.

Hi Flor,

That's exactly what I did, double tapped the Update All option. I was then
prompted for the password, and 3 more times during the process and because
there were 16 updates, I now see why I was prompted 4 times in total as per
your explanation. Thanks mooy moocho.

Choose the 'Update All' option as another member has suggested.

For individual updates, or for using Touch ID in general, Apple - for
sercurity reasons, after the limit of four uses has been reached - requests
that you input your Passcode (or your password) again to renew your touch ID
count.

Re: App Store and Updating Apps

2024-04-24 Thread Flor Lynch

Choose the 'Update All' option as another member has suggested.

For individual updates, or for using Touch ID in general, Apple - for
sercurity reasons, after the limit of four uses has been reached -
requests that you input your Passcode (or your password) again to renew
your touch ID count.
