I don't have Edge or Google Chrome set to remember passwords. But, here's something weird, or maybe not, this happens on my Windows 7 PC when using the latest Edge or Chrome but, on my Windows 10 PC everything works just fine, which I just discovered a little while ago. I almost forgot waht my apple ID password was, but thanks to giving out that site, I remembered it and could have logged into my account if I had wanted to. Yes, that is the correct URL, when I clicked on your link the website opens and I am asked to enter my Apple Id email and password. As opposed to Richard I have no problems in Edge or Chrome.
