Well wait until the next major update to KNFB Reader. One thing that will be 
new is it will be a free download with an in-app purchase to use all of the 
features.

Voice worked better before the update, but even then, you got what you paid for.
KNFB Reader is by far the best OCR app out there.
But, if you can't afford the $99.99, for just getting straight text, 
TextGrabber does a good job for less than $10.
Not as good as KNFB and you can't do multi-page documents.
Prizmo, for $9.99, will allow multi-page documents, but the interface is more 
complicated.
Prizmo does a better job at trying to separate paragraphs than KNFB Reader, but 
I'm hopeful that feature will be in the next update to KNFB.

Well I use the KaeAnn at the reader and I bought it when it was on sale for 50 
bucks back last year and I have not even did not hear the voice OCR out but the 
KNM the reader works very easy, and I can scan most things packages boxes 
medicine bottles are a little hard most documents are very easy to scanned and 
have been able to do it without purchasing one of stands  bthese

Thanks Anne, that is really kind.
Unfortunately I have to admit that I have had my IPhone 5s for over a year now 
but still haven’t connected it to ITunes, just concerned about my contacts and 
things synchronising that I don’t want to as it has taken me a long time to set 
these back up again.

First of all I would upgrade the iPad to the latest iOS, 8.0.3 is one of the 
very first builts from last September and October and many improvements were 
made. Is there a particular reason why you haven’t upgraded?

The app is a bit spotty. After you execute the photo capture button to snap the 
picture, you must execute the done button in the bottom right hand corner. This 
should take you to the screen where the reading is done but when I tried it a 
few minutes ago, this screen had the label speaking in the top Center of the 
screen but nothing was being spoken. Like I said, spotty performance.

Tom, don't ask me, it seems we're both in the same boat. Having said 
that, I believe there's an applevis podcast about the app, but I haven't 
got round to listening to it yet.

It seems this app only works on newer iPhones.  It never worked on my 4S.  I 
imagine it needs more memory and processing power than the 4S can offer.

The new Voice update version 3.3 which I downloaded yesterday is working
fine on my iPhone 6 running iOS 8.3.

 

I just used it to scan a bank privacy notification document and it did a
very good job. It notifies you when it sees all four corners of the document
but I'll caution that it helps if there is good contrast between what the
document rests on and the document itself. When I tried putting my white
document on my bathroom counter where the light is good but the counter is
cream-colored, I got no notification about it detecting the four corners.
However, when I placed it on a brown table, I was notified quickly.

 

I don't know why you're experiencing problems with the app but if they
persist after restarting your device, you might try removing the app and
reinstalling it.
