I asked about e-mailing myself a text message because that's the method I
use to send text messages to my sister's and Dad's phones; one has an
iPhone, the other does not.

Okay, now I got what you want to do so in order to test the text tone don't
need to use the messages app and send yourself an iMessage via your email you
were talking about so just make sure yourself is in your contacts in and then
find yourself, type whatever you want to send to yourselves

message from your iPod to your iPhone to see if it works. Apple calls those
iMessages.

subject you're referring to text tone and then your body of your email you're
