Okay, now I got what you want to do so in order to test the text tone don't need to use the messages app and send yourself an iMessage via your email you were talking about so just make sure yourself is in your contacts in and then find yourself, type whatever you want to send to yourselves

Hi, Everyone. I want to change my text tone sound, then need to see if it takes. Am I understanding right to say that I go to the place where you can select the tone you want under Settings Sounds, then double tap what you want to use? Can I send a text message via e-mail to my iPod Touch to see

Yes I can be done, by the way your subject is very confusing. Because in your subject you're referring to text tone and then your body of your email you're wanting to send yourself an email via your PC to save the toners changed. The only way that you may want to tell the tone is changed, would
