A temporary fix might be to add an h or m after the name to designate the type
of number.

I don't know about the identification however, I only include one number in my
favorites.
Then, if you want to call another number in the same contact, just swipe to the
right and hit the More Info button.
In there you'll find all your numbers all labeled for you.
