If the Apple TV is hooked up to the TV via the HDMI cable and the TV has an
analogue audio output then this will work fine. I assume Rob is using the
headphone jack of the TV which he connects to a set of powered speakers. This
will mute the TV at the same time.

directly toggle Voiceover on the Apple TV, but it will bring up a menu and the
