Don,
When you go into the pass code settings, you have to enter the pass code.
Once in there, you should find an option to turn off the pass code, which you
will have to verify again probably with the pass code.
Once you wade through all that you will be done with the pass code and anyone

Thank you Christopher. I do appreciate your explanation. Unfortunately, I was
not offered that option when I installed the passcode.
Truly, thanks to all who have responded.

: Pass code issue
In order to change anything in the pass codes area, You need to enter the
passcode, and then change settings. It's a security measure to stop somebody
changing the passcode on you and locking you out of your phone.

There should have been a way not to enter a passcode during set up. If you
double tap on "passcode options" button, there is an option to "don't add a
passcode". Then you double tap continue to confirm you really don't want to add
a passcode.

When I upgraded my wife’s 4S to IOS 9.3, I was asked to choose a
passcode. So I entered a four-digit code. There was no option not to enter a
code. There is of course no finger print option on the 4S. So now I am
required to enter the passcode whenever unlocking the screen. I went
Hi, all. I came across an interesting little thing. I'm not yet having
much luck with the finger print identifier, so I very often have to enter my
pass code to unlock my phone. If I enter it on the on-screen keyboard the
numbers are announced. If I, however, use the on-screen Braille mode, I
