It is possible with air play but not with Bluetooth.

It isn't working correctly on the Apple TV either. I wrote Apple about this 
last week, both with respect to iOS and it tvOS. As yet, I have gotten no 
acknowledgment of receipt of my inquiry, much less a substantive reply. I would 
therefore urge everybody else to write to accessibility and raise the same 
question. I'm sure they have lots of email with the release of all the new 
software. So maybe if more people right, will get something.

I have the same problem.  I do not know if the feature is just not working 
correctly, or if designating the channel the sound is suppose to come out of is 
all it is suppose to do.
But as it is, in my opinion, it is not useful at all.

Hopefully there is something I am just not doing correctly.
