Hi Marissa,
It is possible somebody tried to hack into your account and hence the prompt
for the security questions. It could just be an extra security measure they
sometimes do, maybe you accidently entered your password incorrectly before.
You may be convinced that you entered the
Did your
credit card expiration date change or anything?
Have you tried changing your password?
I'd call Apple and see if they can help.
Being a holiday, I doubt you'll find anyone there, but I'd try the password
change just in case.

i found out from Apple, that this is routine for them to verify your
identity. I reset the security questions and i am good now.. to you to all.
