Dave, have you tried using the braille screen input keyboard to look up apps?
It works just like the handwriting but uses braille instead.
On your home screen switch your rotor to the braille screen input keyboard.
Now just start typing in the name of the app you are looking for. I normally
Hi David,
As long as you know the alphabet usually all that is required for you is to
draw one or two letters to narrow it down.
I could see how it might take some practice, but I would give it a try. Maybe
it’s easy for me to say because I had full sight until I was almost 17 so

Dave,
Did you go into the Siri and Search settings and turn off app suggestions?
Maybe that would help.

No, haven’t tried the status bar thing so will give that a try. Yes, I use it
to find apps on the phone. Um, if I used handwriting, wouldn’t I need to know
how to write in print? Maybe that’s a dumb question but I’ve never used it and
all I can do in print is sign my name at best, but I can do
Thanks for the encouragementto rejoin the beta program, Sieghard! I found the
original beta so gruelling that I bailed out. Now I have rejoined, I do see

Cheers

double tap?
Do you use it to find apps on your phone? Why not use handwriting, it is much
faster and works great.

Hmmm, guess I should have explained this better. The search field shows up
occasionally. However, when I wrote the message I did, when I would do the
3-finger swipe down, all voiceover would say is, siri app suggestions, heading.
No matter which way I tried to move and scroll pages, I could not
Hi Harry,
Doing a 3-finger swipe to the right when on the main home screen gives you the
Today screen. To get to spotlight search you touch any app or folder on any of
your home screens and do a 3-finger swipe down.
Somebody else needs to check this for David, I have already moved on to the iOS
I think the spotlight search is reached by three finger swipe from left to
right to reach page 1 of all screens. At the very top is a Search field, which
seems to be what you want?

I've never tried using Siri to ask for a spotlight search. A three finger swipe
down in the middle of the screen works every time.
