IOS 8.1 and VO will work on an iPhone 4S 8G. You'll need quite a bit of
free space to install IOS 8.1 (less if you use iTuens from your Mac or
PC), but once it's installed, you won't have any less space. There are
more bugs in IOS 8.1 than you listed below. There's a focus bug where in

Depends how many apps you use, or media you play. I'd get away with it as a
minimalist user, ubt it will be a bit of a tight fit and you'll have to
delete stuff to make room; maybe all your stuff and put it back after when

I have IOS 8.1 on my 4S, and I don't find it unstable. There are some

8.1.1.

The major problem that I encountered with this iphone4s device is that

I never had to do a hard reset to get VoiceOver back on my iPhone 4S,
but the 8.1 update definitely resolved most of the issues with VoiceOver
restarting.

I would wait at this point for the iOS 8.1.1 release and once it comes out
check the list for a few days before upgrading and see what people have to say.
As Christopher says, 8.1.1 is supposed to address performance issues on older
devices and my guess is that it will come out in the next 3 or
