Re: Super sense gets between 2 and 3 stars

2021-12-30 Thread Shane Lowe
Wayne and Arlene,
With Supersense installed on a device sharing the same Apple ID, open
the app, double tap the menu button, click subscriptions, and click
restore purchases at the bottom of the screen. This should activate
family sharing if it doesn't enable automatically.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if it doesn't work. :)

Happy new year to everyone!

Sieghard, We have family sharing set up and it is working. I'm sure of that
since we just purchased an app about a week ago, and this app under family
sharing on 3 devices with the same apple id and Arlene's 2 devices of which
this new app works on all 5 devices. Though with voice sense no go, it won't
work with a different apple idea, in this case meaning Arlene's 2 devices of
which are under our family sharing. When we purchased super sense about a year
ago or a little longer, Shane said at tat time they didn't do family sharing.
As you can imagine before all this discussion about super sense, we
coincidentally deleted the expired demo from Arlene's devices, because we were
wondering if they had gotten family sharing going. So about a week ago Arlene
downloaded and installed super sense on her phone, and it was a trial, so we
didn't bother to download it to the iPad, so therefore we figured that super
sense had not gotten family sharing included in their app. However, if they do
have family sharing I wonder what the problem could be.

This is interesting, thanks so much for reaching out. After you and I
spoke, we did implement family sharing, and had it work successfully

Would you mind requesting a call through Supersense, or sending me a

I'm so sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi, I purchased Supersense, InVision AI, and have tried both. I was
very disappointed in Supersense due to the fact that I had just
purchased it for a full price in trying to help out the developer.
When I contacted them to inquire if I could get a partial refund
since it went on sale after I purchase it the question was never
answered and I was never advised that I could get partial refund
which really disappointed me since I just made the purchase.
I love solvent plus and I love voice dream scanner both are very good
much better than InVision AI and super sense.
Take care.

Thanks very much to everyone for all of the detailed feedback here. It is
welcome, and genuinely appreciated.

My plan is to use this thread as a direct source of information as we create
our upcoming product roadmap. It has been a busy year, and we had to make some
decisions that put some of the features requested for Supersense on hold for a
time. I cannot be happier to say that we do have extensive plans to work on
many of the features mentioned here as soon as we are able, and all feedback is
welcome as we prepare to enter that phase. I do not wish to give you a date to
expect features because as you and I both learned over the past year, a lot can
happen to waylay a project, especially when it requires extensive research and
development.
For now, please continue to send your thoughts about the app, and I hope to
bring you an update on what is coming down the pipeline soon.

All the best, and happy holidays to everyone!

The only thing I think Supersense does better than the others are the bar
codes. I have to figure out whether reading bar codes is worth the subscription
price, being that I have other apps that will do the other things Supersense
does, some of them much better. I have yet to put out any money for it. If they
offered me only the bar code reader for, say, half the price, I would go for
that.

I don’t regret purchasing it. It does bar codes and things that pop up on

it was practically promised that column detection was coming in 2020. It is

the only one to ask for an option to not have it auto start. I also noticed
that android didn’t have the option to request a call. This should’ve been

They do work well. However; I will use EyeNote first for money; and Seeing AI
for the quick read of the short text channel since I don't have to tell the app
to stop doing what it's doing, and then take a couple steps to get the channel
I want.

Yep. I am right there with you guys. To me, I don’t think it’s worth putting

2021-12-27 Thread Richard Turner
They do work well. However; I will use EyeNote first for money; and Seeing AI
for the quick read of the short text channel since I don't have to tell the app
to stop doing what it's doing, and then take a couple steps to get the channel
I want.

gave me the advertising from the company, but then, the nutrition facts and
serving size. It really is too bad that this is the only thing I have found, so
far, that SuperSense does better than I already can do with apps I already
have either for free or at a lower cost. I still bet that if this bar code

Hi, I purchased Supersense, InVision AI, and have tried both. I was very
disappointed in Supersense due to the fact that I had just purchased it for a
full price in trying to help out the developer. When I contacted them to
inquire if I could get a partial refund since it went on sale after I purchase
it the question was never answered and I was never advised that I could get
partial refund which really disappointed me since I just made the purchase.
I love solvent plus and I love voice dream scanner both are very good much
better than InVision AI and super sense.
Take care.

2021-12-27 Thread Cris Ali
Well, I bought both SuperSense and envision at around the same time,
over a year ago. Both were on sale for a life subscription. At the time
Supersense could not OCR Arabic language image pdf files, while envision
did a fantastic job on such files. With time I became dependant on
envision and even forgot that I bought Supersense. Now, Supersense can
do Arabic language image pdf files, but the quality of the OCR on these
files is not as great as envision. For the instant use of short text, as
it may be called, Seeing AI does a better job than both Envision and
Supersense. That is why I do not use SuperSense that often, if any.

I end up defaulting to Seeing AI for much of what

The only thing I think Supersense does better than the others are the bar
codes. I have to figure out whether reading bar codes is worth the subscription
price, being that I have other apps that will do the other things Supersense
does, some of them much better. I have yet to put out any money for it. If they
offered me only the bar code reader for, say, half the price, I would go for

RE: Super sense gets between 2 and 3 stars

2021-12-27 Thread Dennis Long
Can you say why you don’t use Supersense? This will hopefully help it improve.

I also bought supersense to support the development of the app. In almost all
situations, I use either envision or seeing AI.

Is it really worth $40, I’m not sure. It ain’t worth no $100 when other apps
can do much of the same stuff for a lot less.

This is a free market economy, at least so they tell us, and competition drives

Seeing AI recognizes stuff on the TV screen too.

Now, the built-in camera on iPhones recognizes tons of text on the fly plus QR
codes on the TV, etc.

It does have some bar codes that Seeing AI doesn’t have, and for me, that is
the one area that keeps it in my toolbox.

I would use it more if it wasn’t for that damn auto scanning it insists on
doing instead of waiting until I am ready to scan.

I don’t regret purchasing it. It does bar codes and things that pop up on your
TV set very well.I like that it does on device scanning. This being said it
was practically promised that column detection was coming in 2020. It is now
the end of 2021 and we still don’t have this. I don’t believe Richard was the
only one to ask for an option to not have it auto start. I also noticed that
android didn’t have the option to request a call. This should’ve been added.
Hoping Supersense improves in 2022.

They implied, if not almost promised, that column recognition was right around

What SuperSense does, it does fairly well; but it is an annoying interface.

I end up defaulting to Seeing AI for much of what SuperSense does because the

And now that column recognition is in Voice Dream Scanner, it remains my go to

Hi all,

I just responded to Richard, and for those who requested promo codes,

I will be sending you an off-list email shortly.

To be clear, Supersense is $49.99 until January 1, when the price will

go back up to $99.99.

Currently, Supersense handles columns slightly better than other apps

I have experimented with (Seeing AI, etc) but our research and

development department has created an AI model that handles them much

better. We are currently working on implementing this, so you will see

changes coming in that area.

I ask where are the changes? It has been a year. This will be added when?

2021-12-27 Thread Arnold Schmidt
It is tempting, it really is, being that, although I was not one of them, I
know people who laid out $1200 for those first bar code readers. And they told
me that even their $1200 machines told them not recognized too often. I don't
know, but I have to figure it out soon.

Re: Super sense gets between 2 and 3 stars

2021-12-27 Thread Arnold Schmidt
The only thing I think Supersense does better than the others are the bar
codes. I have to figure out whether reading bar codes is worth the subscription
price, being that I have other apps that will do the other things Supersense
does, some of them much better. I have yet to put out any money for it. If they
offered me only the bar code reader for, say, half the price, I would go for
that.

Re: Super sense gets between 2 and 3 stars

2021-12-27 Thread Malcolm Parfitt
I bought a lifetime subscription on Boxing Day last year.

I have lost count how many times an update mentions new and exciting features
but none have been added yet nor do we know what they are or when they will be
implemented.

I’m not really aware of what has been improved since last year but who knows
what will materialise next year.

For my money and I own both Envision AI is the better app.

Of course VoiceDream Scanner is outstanding but that goes for their other apps
do, what they do they excel at.

Re: Super sense gets between 2 and 3 stars

2021-12-27 Thread Dennis Long
I don’t regret purchasing it.

RE: Super sense gets between 2 and 3 stars

2021-12-27 Thread Richard Turner
Jennifer,
The only way they know what to improve is by users feedback/criticism. If they
do not respond to that criticism/feedback; that is on them and hopefully sales
will reflect that it isn’t meeting expectations.

Apparently they have a large consumer base that feels the premium features are
the cat’s meow, and they don’t need to change much.

Then there are those of us who wonder what those consumers are smoking.

Re: Super sense gets between 2 and 3 stars

2021-12-27 Thread Richard Turner
Dennis, I agree with you.
I've owned SuperSense for about one year now.
I gave up requesting for the option to have it start at the menu instead of
immediately scanning whatever you last used. That would be a simple toggle
option to add; but nada.
They implied, if not almost promised, that column recognition was right around
the corner starting a year ago ... yet nothing.
What SuperSense does, it does fairly well; but it is an annoying interface.
I end up defaulting to Seeing AI for much of what SuperSense does because the
interface is so much easier.
And now that column recognition is in Voice Dream Scanner, it remains my go to
scanning app.
