Re: how to go nomail

2018-08-09 Thread Christopher Chaltain
Sorry, that was a bad choice of words on my part. I meant managing your
group subscriptions. For example, I can log into Google Groups with my
Google account, see the lists I've subscribed to, subscribe to new lists
and then go into the membership and email settings for that list and
have the posts go to any email address I have registered with my Google
account. I also don't manage any groups on Google Groups, but I am
subscribed to multiple lists, and I used to use multiple email addresses
to manage my posts for those groups, but I think they now all come to
the same email address.

Hello Rebecca,

I received both this message and the one from you, off-list.

For some reason, I cannot locate you in the Google Groups database. Also, when
I attempted to change your settings using an alternative method, no account
info was available. I suspect that your account has become corrupted.

So, at this point, I recommend that you simply unsubscribe from the list using
the link at the bottom of each post.

Then, when you're ready, subscribe to the list again. You can also contact
either Cara or me, directly, when you're ready to rejoin so we can send you an
invitation, if necessary.

Take care and enjoy your vacation.

Hey Maria. I’ll be interested to know what you come up with when you play
with your settings. Let me know if you have the same issues I’m having with my
two google groups.

I wrote Sieghard privately off list as well about Jaws tandem. I’d really
just like to go nomail since I really find this group and everyone on it to be
very helpful it’s just I’m going for my new guide dog and will be gone for two
weeks so don’t want to have to have email pile up.

i know that if you have a Google account, you can change settings to nomail by

  Mark,
This subject seems to come up from time to time. I looked to see if there was
an obvious way to do this but I did not find one.
Is there perhaps an email command to go Nomail?
Or is there a link to get to the right place on the web settings to do this?
It would be wonderful to have the process detailed for everyone.

Hi All,
I am looking to go nomail for a bit and wondered if someone could tell me
how to do so. I do not want to unsubscribe as I find this list to be really

Re: How to go Nomail?

2014-10-23 Thread Andrew Lamanche
Hi Chris,

A short while ago, I did exactly that: I changed my preferences for this group
via google groups settings. I know that many of us have historically had
problems doing so but after a few goes I found a way of changing my mail
preferences for this and viphone groups.

This is what I did:
I first made sure that I signed in to my google account. Then I found the home
page of macvisionaries group. On this page, look for my settings button. Be
careful because there is also settings button on this page which I think has
something to do with google settings. You want to land on my settings
button. Once you are focused on the my settings button, bring mouse cursor
to voiceover cursor with vo+command+f5 and then perform the click with
vo+shift+spacebar. You will hear the characteristic sound of the menu opening.
Then use your up and down arrow keys to file through the menus. One of the
items there is mail settings. Choose it by pressing your enter key rather than
vo+spacebar once you land on it. Then use your tab key not the vo+arrow keys
to move through the various options. Listen for the no mail option and check
the appropriate box. Then again, use your tab to find save button and again
press enter rather than vo+spacebar to make sure your preference is saved.
This method is unusual and messy but it worked for me.

Hope this will help.

HI,
Thanks, this is really appreciated, but I actually joined the group without
creating an account (e.g., submitting an email to request subscription. Thus, I
actually have no idea what my login info is:).
Have a wonderful rest of the day,
