Re: iPhone 7 always sends iCloud mail from me.com instead. why?

2020-10-27 Thread Kevin Gibbs
I had tried that without success. See my earlier e-mail concerning turning off
the me address to solve the problem. Someone else said that the address would
not consistently remain turned off. I haven’t encountered that problem yet.
I’ll keep this thread around in case I get into trouble again.

Thanks,
Kevin

Re: iPhone 7 always sends iCloud mail from me.com instead. why?

2020-10-27 Thread Donna Casteen
Hi,

I'm a bit behind on emails. So I apologize if you have received an answer to
your problem.

When composing an email, if you tap on the from field a drop down window will
appear with all emails that you use on your phone to send & receive emails. Tap
on the email address in which you want to send the email from, by tapping on
the email address it will close the drop down window & the selected email will
be displayed in the from field of your out going email.

It seems to be working for me now. It’s only been one day. I will preserve
this thread and, if I have any problems, I will come back here and report.

2020-10-26 Thread D K
hello,

I for one would really like to know how it goes for you. If this switch
stays turned off for you I will give it another try. However I’ve done this
several times and after a couple minutes and always reverts back to the on
position so I have both my iCloud email switch turned on and my.me switch
turned on even though I turned it off.

Again please keep me informed.

Thank you.

2020-10-26 Thread Kevin Gibbs
I just made the change within Mail. Like I said, it was buried at the bottom
of everything. I’ll look at it to make sure that it stays fixed. Thanks for
letting me know so I continue to monitor it.

I’ll let you know how I get on.

Re: iPhone 7 always sends iCloud mail from me.com instead. why?

2020-10-26 Thread D K
Hi,
I am also having this problem with my icloud emails and I’ve reported it to
apple accessibility.
However, at this point the problem still exists.
I am temporarily using this gmail account for my email till the problem
gets corrected.
I have unchecked the option to use .me email in iOS 14.1 and the switch
goes back to on.
Even on the icloud page, I cannot uncheck the .me account.
A long time back, when I started to use icloud, apple was just bringing the
.me accounts onboard.
Some people also still have a .mac account as well.
I wish apple would allow people to disabble the .me or .mac accounts if
they are not using them.
But, you know, apple knows best.

Again, at this point as far I can tell, the problem for me still exists.
Oh yes, even if I select my .icloud account when sending email on my
iPhone, it will switch back to .me.

So, I don’t know what to say.
Till it’s corrected, I’ll stay with gmail.
Also, this all started for me when I updated to iOS 14.

Later.

Just to keep the list in the loop, someone named Noe Villeda was kind enough to
reply to me privately and ask if I had set iCloud as my default account. Yes.
It has no effect. How do I go and edit servers on an existing account on an
iPhone7 running iOS14?

Re: iPhone 7 always sends iCloud mail from me.com instead. why?

2020-10-26 Thread Kevin Gibbs
I finally solved it. Apparently, the option to alter the Sender address is
at the very bottom under Settings, Mail, Accounts, iCloud. Apparently, my
me.com address was turned ON. turning it off left the iCloud address
partially dimmed but turned on. I've subsequently tested by sending a test
message to the target e-mail list successfully. so sorry to bother you all.

iPhone 7 always sends iCloud mail from me.com instead. why?

2020-10-26 Thread Kevin Gibbs

Guys,

Really sorry to bother you. but I’m ripping what’s left of my hair out.
For some reason, I’ve very recently noticed that I can’t seem to send mail
from my iCloud account on my iPhone 7 running the latest iOS 14. For some
reason, when I send an e-mail from my iCloud account, it sends from
kevj...@me.com instead of kevj...@icloud.com. I can’t seem to find the
settings to change outgoing servers or default sender address for any of my
accounts, particularly my iCloud account. It’s driving me mad because some
of my favorite mailing lists are expecting me to contribute via icloud.com
and I can’t seem to do it. I get the expected Mail Delivery subsystem
message. Curiously, I can reply to an already existing thread. But I
can’t start a new one. I appear to be able to send a new message to a
mailing list that expects me from iCloud from my Mac mini, I think.Any
help greatly appreciated.

Best,

Kevin
