As in from a 100% charge with hte phone just sitting on my desk not plugged in and when I am not using it for anything, the battery drains to 50% within a couple of hours. If I am listening to an audio book, it can go to 0% within 3-4 hours. Has anyone else noticed this issue, and is there any way to help preserve battery life? Hi, Amazon Basics Lightning cables are also great. From my experience with these cables, the newer model has a fat connector that does not allow connection when an OtterBox defender case is being used. I used to like these cables until they updated them with the fatter connector. Anker cables do not have this issue. Just one thing to be aware of when purchasing if you have a case protector. I am using the wall adapter that came with the phone, and a third-party lightning cable. I can switch to a different lightning cable, I think. There is definitely something wrong, it should never take this long to charge an iPhone. Are you using the wall adapter that came with the phone or a third-party adapter? It had been plugged in since 10:00 last night after it had shut off due to low battery, and by 4:30 this afternoon it had only charged to 79%. I think there may be something wrong with my lightning cord as well, but it seems to be charging now. Close all apps in the app switcher, then go to Settings > General > Reset and select to Reset Network Settings. After the phone reboots you have to rejoin your WiFi including entering your password and if your phone was called something like Donald's iPhone you have to go to Settings > General > About and rename it. After a Reset Network Settings the name is simply reset to "iPhone". Often doing this can have a very positive effect.
