it is possible that it is now fixed. I called Audible, and they said to delete and reinstall the app, which I did. It seemed to fix the problem, but then the problem was back again. This afternoon, I updated to iOS 13.3, and now the player seems to be working OK. I will follow up if it is not.

I do not use apple pay, so I do not know for sure. However, In Canada we have tap. Pretty much you hold your card over the reader instead of inserting it. The limit for that is $100. Anything more and you're out of luck. Because apple pay works on a similar principle, i'd imagine that the $100
