I agree with you Richard, but when I tackled them about accessibility some time
ago they placed the blame firmly on Windows saying the platform was far less
accessible to them than Apple.
I know Apple products have their faults and that is hardly surprising given
their complexity but sometimes
I appreciate the suggestion, but since I usually use the Details view which
shows me file type, size, date etc. I have my photos displayed in a list.
Anyways, if there are only 59 files in the folder then it really makes no
difference if you get to them by going up and down or left and right,
I find little reason why you would want to convert photos to JPG if they are in
the HEIC format since Windows 10 can normally open them just fine and if not a
simple download of an extension from the Microsoft Store ensures you can
definitely open them. Here is an article from WindowsCentral
Alan, my husband, Jim, and I each have had two such episodes this past week. I
wondered if it was associated with 14.7? I'm glad you mentioned this, as I had
told him I might bring it to the list's attention to see if anyone else had the
problem.

Hello iPhone Listers,
This may sound like a dumb question. With the new update, I find myself relying
more and more on my Braille device for all the functions on my phone. My
question is: If I use it to pull up a TV show or movie and start playing it,
should I then turn off the device to save

That is mostly user choice.
But, remember that iPhones and braille displays have a fragile relationship.
You don't want to turn on or off the braille display unless the phone is locked.

Hi Malcolm,
Yes, I politely, more than once, approached them about accessibility and got a
similar, brush-off, response.
The Apple platform is certainly no more open to programmers than Windows, and I
suspect perhaps even less-so according to some programmers I know.
So, I think the reality is,
Thank you, Richard, for that sage advice. Locking the phone and turning off the

Thanks Sieghard,
This is news to me as well.
The article I found, which was dated about a year before this article, said
windows did not support HEIC format. So, that article was wrong since in the
article you mention says windows 10 could handle these files since 2018 I
think.

Kevin,
Yes this is the correct behavior. Any time you turn off the watch or your
iPhone completely you will have to enter your pin. This holds true for simply
restarting the devices as well.

Along the same lines as what Sieghard has discovered, I found the same thing.
I also found that there is a file format HEIC, which Apple began using in 2017
that you may run into.
Those files are explained in an article that I will give the link to, but the

Hey Siri this morning. I've double checked my Siri settings which are all

I'm not getting a response other than the initial beeps when the phone is

It had responded while the phone was locked earlier in the betas, so

Hey Duane,
You could try turning on the wifi calling feature this might help the dropping
calls issue.
Find this setting in the settings app, scroll down to Phone and then locate the
wifi calling option and turn it on.

Once you get it to respond then if you continue to ask her questions she will

Thanks for confirming. I figured that is what it was because that bug is also
not present in the beta.
At least, not at the moment.
Maybe they can keep from breaking braille again in this next version.

Once you find it stopped, try tapping the home button if you can without

I have to do that even with my newer SE 2020 with apps like Disney plus.
