Re: Aftershokz Headphones with mic

I so far have not had others able to hear.
If music is turned up loudly yes but so far so good.
I have not tried to carry on a conversation yet since mine is the sport
headphone.

Will report on that after I try it.

Hello,

Has anyone tried the Aftershokz bone conduction headphones with mic on their
Iphone and if so what are your impressions? Does voice over sounds good over

Thanks

I have the one that does not activate the phone but is a headset.
It works well with the Iphone and I can hear voice over well.
I am using it to hear the time and have my phone be silent while I am working.

The reviews on amazon.com mentioned some static with that one so was trying the

So far in the couple weeks I have had the headphones, I like then a lot and

2012-07-08 Thread Brent Harding
I got the ones with the mic, and I never heard static with them. I haven't
used them a lot on phone calls, but they work good, considering they don't
block your ears. I hope that Sendero app comes out soon that will give us
all the features on GPS the regular apps don't do. I heard using these
things with something like a Kapten Plus could be hard, as that not only
uses the smaller plug, but has something else in it to trigger the mic for
voice recognition.

Exactly that, the aftershox are *bone conduction* headphones, they sit just
in front of your ears. They're good, as far as they go, and they supposedly
have a lifetime warranty, which I'm going to have to test. I purchased a
set of these, used them for an hour one day, and loved them. I put them
back in a drawer, and pulled them out later, and I can only use them for a
few seconds, before they turn off.I bought mine off ebay, but I'm trying to
find the warranty information.

I never thought about that possibility! I knew they had that nice clip,
with the control buttons on them, but didn't realize they also had
batteries. The place I bought them from was an ebay store, and said they
were new. I would have thought the battery would last longer than that.
Unless I didn't realize I had to turn them off, and they ran out.

I have the one that does not activate the phone but is a headset.
It works well with the Iphone and I can hear voice over well.
I am using it to hear the time and have my phone be silent while I am
working.
I am planning to try the one that also works with the phone to answer
calls.

The reviews on amazon.com mentioned some static with that one so was trying
the sport headset first.

So far in the couple weeks I have had the headphones, I like then a lot and
like that I can hear what is going on around me.

I'm not at home to describe this better, but with my headphones there
was included a small accessory that plugs into the in-line control box,

Ok, let me describe what I have. In the box, were the headphones, a nice
bag to put them in, and upon further looking, there is a USB dongle looking
thing, with one miniplug, which I thought was an adapter, that you could put
into your computer, kind of like those mic/headphone adapters you can use
with your computer. Is that how you recharge the battery? And, how long does
it take to fully charge them? If that's what they are, I feel really
stupid! LOL! Oh well, it won't be the first time.

Exactly that, the aftershox are *bone conduction* headphones, they sit just
in front of your ears. They're good, as far as they go, and they supposedly
have a lifetime warranty, which I'm going to have to test. I purchased a

Yes, there's a big jack to a smaller plug adapter thing that plugs into the
USB dongle, then you plug the whole thing into a USB port. I'm not sure if
that little extension thing is needed, or if you can just take the audio
plug and plug it right into the dongle, but they charge through the same
connection that would normally feed sound in.

I have the one that does not activate the phone but is a headset.
It works well with the Iphone and I can hear voice over well.
I am using it to hear the time and have my phone be silent while I am

I am planning to try the one that also works with the phone to answer
calls.

The reviews on amazon.com mentioned some static with that one so was trying
the sport headset first.

So far in the couple weeks I have had the headphones, I

I don't know how long it takes to charge. I don't think I ever let mine
fully run down. Right out of the box mine had a charge, but I charged them
for an hour. I must have gotten 5 to 8 hours out of them without problem
over several days, before I recharged them. I haven't had them all that
long, though, to give you a much more informed insight. Good luck.

Ok, mine are the sport models, and the sound cable just plugs right into
that dongle thing. How long does it take to fully charge the batteries?
Also, how long can you get from a full charge? I must have not hit the
power button, when I put them away, and the battery ran down, which would
make since, since I didn't realize there was a battery in the first place!
LOL!

Ok, let me describe what I have. In the box, were the headphones, a
nice
bag to put them in, and upon further looking, there is a USB dongle
looking thing, with one miniplug, which I thought was an adapter, that
 you
could
 put
into your computer, kind of like those mic/headphone adapters you can
use
with your computer. Is that how you recharge the battery? And, how
long
 does
it take to fully charge them? If that's what they are, I feel really
stupid! LOL! Oh well, it won't be the first time.

I can do that, but it will be aweek. I'm on the road and chose to take
a
different set of headphones with. It was a toss-up, as I like the
Aftershokz, but I like the noise-canceling older ones I have used for
a
 few
 years, too.

I'm not at home to describe this better, but with my headphones there
was
included a small accessory that plugs into the in-line control box,
and
 the
other into your computers USB for charging. The in-line switch does
power
on/off, as well as control inline volume.

It has a small usb adapter type plug and on the other end is a place to plug in
headset.
You plug it into the computer to charge.
I haven't had to charge yet.

I think if you forget to turn off they turn themselves off after a certain
amount of time.
I was using it to test the other day while working and when I went to check
time on my phone it was silent.
I turned them back on and it worked.

so would say they went to sleep or turned off.

The piece for charging was small and you could have missed it in the packaging.
I almost did.
Hope this helps?

2012-07-08 Thread AJ
Those of you who have used the aftershokz, have you noticed that other
people can hear the other half of your phone conversations or music,
even when at a reasonably low volume? I read several complaints of
that in amazon reviews.
