Re: Mirroring iPhone 8 Video/Audio Content to a Device Running Windows 10?

2018-08-12 Thread Kenny
Well I really love the ease in which I can use the Stream app on my
phone to access content. Really don't like navigating cable channels
using the browser. Never as easy in my opinion.

I'll consider this, but I don't want a gran or their friends going crazy
buying movies if I happen not to be paying attention. That's why I want
to be the one to control the content, not them.

They really rather spend most of their time watching YouTube videos
anyway LOL.

I find myself watching/listening to a lot of Xfinity content on my

Sometimes I want to mirror/stream this same content to my TV (So others

I have a Minix Neo Mini PC running the latest build of Windows 10 1803

everything family watches!

Is there any accessible Windows 10 application available that would
permit iOS device to Window device video/audio mirroring?

Something that doesn't require a whole bunch of configuration to get it

Both my iPhone 8 and Minix Neo box are on the same home WiFi network by

RE: Mirroring iPhone 8 Video/Audio Content to a Device Running Windows 10?

2018-08-12 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Richard,

OK, maybe, but the question is how easy and accessible this is and if it costs
a subscription to get this functionality then the one-time purchase price of an
Apple TV might be worth it especially since it gives you also a lot more than
just the ability to mirror your iPhone.

Actually, with a little research, Teamviewer is supposed to be able to do this,
and there is a subscription service, which I don't recall this moment as I am
trying to set up Teamviewer.
But, google something like mirroring your iPhone to a Windows PC.

I don't think there is anything you can use to stream from your phone to your
mini PC, the best, easiest and super-accessible solution here would be to spend
$200 and buy an Apple TV, you might even be able to find a used one for less,
the current model is the Apple TV 4K, before that was the 4th generation and I
would look for that one in 32Gb.
I actually just had a look and you can still buy it from Apple for $199 here in
Canada which means that in the US it probably is $149. In addition to easy
access to iPhone mirroring it supports Airplay 2 and for all I know there might
even be an accessible Xfinity app for the Apple TV, maybe some others who are
from the US can chime in about that. If it exists you could leave the iPhone
out of the equasion altogether.
If you buy it from Apple it also means you can try it out and if you don't like
it you can return it.

Sieghard
