Re: Moving Apps in IOS 10 Question

2016-09-25 Thread Mary Otten
Hi Mickey,
You have a couple of options, well actually three. You can still move things
out of a folder in the traditional way with double tap hold and slide your
finger. Using the new way, instead of using the home button to close the
folder, which also ends remove operation, you can use the iOS "scrub gesture"
to close the folder, then proceed with the move process in the normal new way.
You can also find an extra item in the action menu within the folder, once you
have selected the object you want to move. If you flip down, you should see an
option that says something like drop application, where application is the
title of the one you're moving, out of folder. I haven't actually done it that
way, but if you double tap that I assume that lets you proceed in the new way
as well. Hope that helps.

Did you use the scrub gesture as richard suggests? Or did you use the home

it definitely closed my session. But I'm going to try to scrub gesture as
richard has suggested and suspect it will work.

Re: Moving Apps in IOS 10 Question

2016-09-24 Thread Mary Otten
John,
Did you use the scrub gesture as richard suggests? Or did you use the home
button to close the folder? My experiment was with using the home button. And
it definitely closed my session. But I'm going to try to scrub gesture as
richard has suggested and suspect it will work.

Also, when you are in a folder and want to move an app, activate move, and
there is an extra option that says drop app from folder. It closes the folder,
and is prepared to move the app to its new destination.

6. Now, go to wherever you are wanting to move the app or folder. If it is an
app you are moving, and you want it in a folder, do not open the destination
folder, just touch it.
7. Flick up down and you will hear, cancel moving x app, flick down again, and
you will hear either add x app to folder, or create a folder with whatever app
you are on, flick down again and you will here "put app before x app, once more
and you will here "put app after x app.?

Richard

Is this wonderful, new way to move apps just for VoiceOver users, or can
sighted users use it, too? If so, briefly, how do they do it? I tell you, as
a VoiceOver user, it is worth upgrading just to get this feature. I could
move them the old way, but never quite ended up with everything where I
really wished it were.
