Hi Neal,

There's nothing I know of out there for iOS that will do what you
want. Apps are sandboxed and cannot really interact with each other
unless there are specific API hooks in place to accomplish specific
tasks (i.e. using open in to send a file to the Dropbox app).
Recording is definitely not something that the Skype app provides so
the only way to do it is as you described, put the call on
speakerphone and record using another app. That means the quality
isn't going to be fabulous. If you are doing a podcast or radio work
and need to record a call in the highest possible quality, I'd
recommend using a computer or using an app like Groundwire that allows
you to place calls using a SIP account and record them.

Cheers.

RE: Is it possible to record a Skype call?

2013-03-09 Thread Kramlinger, Keith G., M.D.
Thanks.

Can you please explain how exactly you use Evernote to do this? From the link,
I'm guessing you start recording within Evernote, start Skype and make your
call while Evernote is recording in the background. Then, when your Skype call
is over, you end the call and use the App Switcher to get back to Evernote to
stop recording. Is this correct? If not, can you please explain.

Thanks again for the info!

2013-03-09 Thread Grant Hardy

Cheers.

Grant

RE: Is it possible to record a Skype call?

2013-03-09 Thread Neal Ewers
Hi Grant, Thanks. That's too bad. There is such an app on Android phones, or
so I am told. I guess if I want to record, I'll be going back to my
computer.

Hi Neal,

There's nothing I know of out there for iOS that will do what you want. Apps
are sandboxed and cannot really interact with each other unless there are
specific API hooks in place to accomplish specific tasks (i.e. using open
in to send a file to the Dropbox app).
Recording is definitely not something that the Skype app provides so the
only way to do it is as you described, put the call on speakerphone and
record using another app. That means the quality isn't going to be fabulous.
If you are doing a podcast or radio work and need to record a call in the
highest possible quality, I'd recommend using a computer or using an app
like Groundwire that allows you to place calls using a SIP account and
record them.

Cheers.

Grant

having to put your phone on speaker and therefore possibly getting VO
