Re: A Question About Reading Continuously in iBooks in iOS 8.2
The advantage of speak screen is that it continues to read even when the screen locks, whereas voiceover will cease reading on a locked screen. In addition you have the option to select a different voice and speed with speak screen, not available with the normal voiceover read-all. I did this recently had Alex as my voice for normal use, and when it started to read it was Samantha reading but every page Alex would announce the page number. I stopped that and just swiped two fingers down in I books and he read continuously without me having to hear every page number, sure the little squeak but I have gotten so used to that now that I hardly notice it. Re: A Question About Reading Continuously in iBooks in iOS 8.2
Using the speak Screen function will let the book continue when the screen locks. First turn it on and select the voice you want to use and the speed in Accessibility setting under Speech. then when in an IBook, first touch the status bar and then do the two finger swipe down to begin reading or use Siri with the command "Speak Screen" Marie -Original Message- From: M. Taylor Sent: Tuesday, March 17, 2015 1:22 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: A Question About Reading Continuously in iBooks in iOS 8.2 Hello Everyone, When I perform a two-finger swipe down to initiate continuous reading in iBooks, on my iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8.2, I discovered that reading stops when the display auto-lock kicks in. In iOS 7.x, this did not occur as, regardless of the system settings, the display would remain on during continuous reading. Unless there is a workaround, in order to prevent iBooks continuous reading from being interrupted, in iOS 8.2, I have to first disable the Auto-Lock. Am I missing something? All replies welcomed. Re: A Question About Reading Continuously in iBooks in iOS 8.2
Have you tried using the speak screen feature? When you are in a iBook hold down the home button and then tell siri speak screen and then continuous reading will start. If speak screen is not enabled you can enable it by going to settings general accessibility speech and then speak screen and then double tap it to turn it on. > On Mar 17, 2015, at 3:22 AM, M.
