Re: Booking.com Update with Voiceover improvement - fantastic!!!
Hi everyone, I know that this thread is over 6 months old but I would still like to try my luck and ask you guys if you have any experience with the desktop version of Booking.com and if so, what do you think of it? Their app seems to be up to date on the accessibility front, which is great news, but I am curious about the website itself. With hope that someone reads this and responds, Gudny :) On Friday, July 12, 2013 4:15:59 AM UTC+2, Sieghard wrote: Hi Raul, Thanks for sharing your experience with the Booking.com app. It is good if developers hear such feedback and occasionally when I take on an app so to speak and start a dialogue with a developer, I also follow up afterwards to let them know how their efforts have been appreciated. You can then double tap on a hotel, often there is more information given and even in the prior version, once you got to that point actually making a reservation was no problem. Booking.com does also work with Passbook and I find this very handy since after I make a booking I can add it to Passbook and when I get to the hotel I can, if necessary, just pull up the booking confirmation. This is another example of a large company being very responsive and I hope everybody who travels on a regular bases for pleasure or business and who needs to make hotel reservations will give the Booking.com app a try and hopefully take a few minutes to give them a good rating with a comment that they are a happy Voiceover user of the app. Regards, Sieghard -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. hi Sieghard, Thanks for communicating with this developer. Yes, this app is outstanding now. We are planning a trip for next January, and I expect we will use this app to book our hotels. Re: Booking.com Update with Voiceover improvement - fantastic!!!
Yes, that should find it. When I look for the app, I just typed in the word booking and it sounded on the first shot. As far as what the app does, it allows you to search for hotels based on a destination you specified. You can choose your date will check in and check out, everything is accessible. Once you've completed your criteria, a list we've robbed of the hotels that match your search criteria. It's a great app. Les Sent from my iPhone On Jun 18, 2013, at 2:08 PM, Brian Miller brianrmille...@gmail.com wrote: Hi, So is this app available in the Apple App store? If so, what is it called? RE: Booking.com Update with Voiceover improvement - fantastic!!!
Hi Brian and Jeff, Sorry if this sounds somewhat sarcastic, but since I painstakingly explained how I contacted Booking.com, how they offer over 300,000 hotels through their service and how well they responded and fixed the app where app is the important word, yes, this is an app that is available in the app store. If you had gone to the App Store on your phone and typed Booking.com in the search field, it would have been your first result. I just timed myself doing this and it took me about 30 seconds from unlocking my phone to loading the app store and doing the search. The search result says: Booking.com, hotel reservations for 310,000 + Hotels You could also have gone to Google and typed in Booking.com on iTunes, that search including clicking on the App Store link was less than 10 seconds. OK, I really do apologize for not simply saying Sorry, I should have provided the app description, the fact it is free along with a link and tutorial on how to use it, but sometimes it really would be nice if people actually did just a small bit of work themselves. The update took a while, but this morning it was in the app store and I downloaded it right away and did a search for hotels in Vancouver. I am very happy to say that now the list of search results works perfectly, it is fast and you can right flick through the list, Voiceover reads the hotel name and the starting price of the room rates it found for the date you entered. You can then double tap on a hotel, often there is more information given and even in the prior version, once you got to that point actually making a reservation was no problem. http://Booking.com Booking.com does also work with Passbook and I find this very handy since after I make a booking I can add it to Passbook and when I get to the hotel I can, if necessary, just pull up the booking confirmation. This is another example of a large company being very responsive and I hope everybody who travels on a regular bases for pleasure or business and who needs to make hotel reservations will give the http://Booking.com Booking.com app a try and hopefully take a few minutes to give them a good rating with a comment that they are a happy Voiceover user of the app

Thanks -- I know it seems like an obvious question, but often I read of an app and it isn't there when I go to the store, or I lack the exact search term to get the right app, as there are so many. This is why I like to have the exact info before I start poking around. Thanks also for taking the time to work with the app developers, this is very encouraging. RE: Booking.com Update with Voiceover improvement - fantastic!!!
Sorry, Brian, I had a hectic morning, usually I would probably have posted the link and an explanation without the comments, thanks for not being offended. One thing to keep in mind is that when you search for an app it is always a good idea to type in whatever you think it is you are looking for and then to double tap Search at the bottom right of the keyboard. As you type in letters, there is a constantly changing list which displays results, but I find that sometimes you get no results that way but as soon as you double tap on Search you do get results in the picker box which is located one swipe to the left of the Featured tab which in turn is at the very bottom left of the screen. One example for this is Tap Tap See, type it in like this with spaces and you get no results in the list right underneath he search field, but tap on Search and it shows up as the first search result. Yes, my experience contacting Booking.com was very good and they were very good at communicating with me and in getting this fixed, it was just 1 month from when I first contacted them until the fixed app was released. There are other apps which also allow you to book hotels and which are accessible like Kayak or Expedia, but I like the fact that Booking.com has the integration with Passbook which none of the others do and also the prices on Booking.com are usually quite good and from what I have seen at least as good as everybody elses.
