Fast charging does not hurt the battery of your iPhone. I've got an iPhone 8 which was the first iPhone to offer that feature. I've got a USBC port on my wall power strip and a very nice lightning to USBC cable and my iPhone 8 will charge very quickly. I'd never use a five watt power brick.
