Remember the glitch withinthe Weather app, that when you swipe by hour, the

RE: IOS17.1 first impressions: language rotor missing, Notifications fixed

2023-10-26 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Would have never noticed it because I never use this "Voiceover way" of getting
to notification centre or, for that matter, tha tcontrol centre. With just a
little practice you can get notification and control centre the same way you do
the swipe up from the bottom to go back to the home screen or bring up the app
switcher. Instead of touching near the bottom and swiping up to go home or up
further to bring up the app switcher, you can touch anywhere on the status bar
and drag your finger down a bit for control centre or go further and you get
notification centre.

Yeah... I was hoping they'd fix this issue in this new update! It's been around
since 17.0, but no joy! Hopefully it'll be fixed by 17.2 then?

Granted I'm on iOS 17.1 beta 3, but I can touch the battery percentage and do a
three finger swipe down and get the notification center.

Re: IOS17.1 first impressions: language rotor missing, Notifications fixed

2023-10-25 Thread Robin Frost

Hi,

One annoyance I've noted is that when on the status line I can do a 3
finger swipe down for Notification center on any icon but the battery
level indicator. I don't know if there's some visual difference with
this icon as opposed to the others that would account for this
difference but so far this is my experience.

Take good care,

Robin

RE: IOS17.1 first impressions: language rotor missing, Notifications fixed

2023-10-25 Thread Richard Turner
Peggy,

We are talking about two completely different things.

The issue in 17.1 is that the rotor item called Language is not on the rotor.
It became unselected in the update.

You have to go to where I said to add it back to the rotor by making sure it is
selected.

To add languages, apparently, is now under VoiceOver, Speech settings. But
what determines whether or not you have that on the rotor is in
VoiceOver/Rotor/Rotor Items.

Richard, when I went to voiceover, there was nowhere to select rotor languages
there at least not undermine in 14. Maybe I just missed it. There were many
other things to select to put in the rotor, but there was no language selection
at all in mine. The only way I could find it was to go in speech and select it
there. Maybe if I select it there I will find it in rotor settings , I might
try that.

Richard, when I went to voiceover, there was nowhere to select rotor languages there at least not undermine in 14. Maybe I just missed it. There were many other things to select to put in the rotor, but there was no language selection at all in mine. The only way I could find it was to go in speech and select it there. The language rotor is still in the VoiceOver Rotor settings, but finally, at
long last, you can unselect it! So, apparently they now make the default
unselected. If you want it back, go to settings, accessibility, VoiceOver,
Rotor, Rotor Items.

Re: IOS17.1 first impressions: language rotor missing, Notifications fixed

2023-10-25 Thread Richard Turner
The language rotor is still in the VoiceOver Rotor settings, but finally, at
long last, you can unselect it! So, apparently they now make the default
unselected. If you want it back, go to settings, accessibility, VoiceOver,
Rotor, Rotor Items.

Just updated both my IPHone and IPad to 17.1, and it’s so weird what I’m going
to say: the Language rotor option isn’t there! On both my IPHone and IPad, I
had to head on over to voiceOver rotor options, with the surprise that the
Language option wasn’t checked! Thus upon checking it once again, it shows up
as it should. So just so that you’ll can aware of this little annoyance.
What I’m loving the iOS17.1, though, is that apparently the VoiceOver
Notification reading bug is fixed! I tested this by going into
voiceOver/Verbosity/System Notifications, and within the Blocked Screen section
of the Settings, checked “Don’t do Nothing”, and yes it worked! VoiceOver was
speechless (not even the time as did with the 17.0 cycle), of which I’m very
happy! This is what I’d been expecting all along! What makes me happier is that
I no longer have to turn off teh speech as before!
Oh and the update is sort of big! On my th Generation IPad it was around 900MB,
and on this IPHone se 2nd Generation, the 17.1 updated cloked just a it over a
GB”!Gera Enviado desde mi iPhone SE (2nd Generation) de Telcel
