ports) such that it will just bypass the traffic from
the router, then I will just need 2 subnets really, the private domain and
the public domain as before -- and yet be able to let my machines from the
private domain route out to the internet.
Possible with vyatta?

has the latest community version of vyatta allow specifying users with
varying degree of permissions?
Or its still a same-level permission kind?

Are there plans to allow different permissioning for users?
Without it, I'm currently not comfortable in activating the web-panel for
use.
Thanks!

Hi guys,
I have getting alot of such entries in my log:
Oct 7 14:35:12 vyatta sshd[27845]: (pam_unix) check pass; user unknown
I think its just some bots trying to login. Anyway to prevent this?
Also, currently I allow root login, but I don't feel safe with that option.
I can disable that
Hi guys,
I have been having problems with my web servers behind a vyatta router. I am
thinking of trying to check if vyatta is dropping packets.. what should I do
to find out?
Also.. I realise under System, there's no logging.
What's the minimal logging should I use to get useful information

Easiest way is with a show interfaces - it'll give you packet statistics.
By default, the system logs at warning level, so any major issues will be
visible
Hi guys,
I am using Vyatta router for my web servers and recently, some users are
complaining their connection to the web servers are getting cut off. I don't
think its the routers fault, but i need to verify. Apparently they did a
check on their proxy end and it seems to spew the following:
Hi all,
please ignore my question. I have solved it. Turns out the datacenter
actually mapped 2 IP addresses to the same port, which caused the confusion

I don't know if I'm understanding this right. You want to add a second
subnet on a second interface of the Vyatta router? In that case

Hi guys,
being good fellows of Vyatta community, I was wondering if you guys use any
good load balancer solution that is open source, like Vyatta?
I came across a few, but am wondering if you guys can offer some first-hand
experience advice :)

Hi guys,
how do I control the ssh timeout value of servers connected via Vyatta?
When I connect to them over the internet directly (without router), it
doesn't timeout.
When I connect via vyatta, it timeout after a short while.
Thanks!

As you can see, the router seats in front of the load balancer.

Does the load balancer have ICMP disabled? That'd certainly explain
that, unless
you were able to ping it before --
Since you have the load balancer between the router, I suspect
eth1

To note traffic info etc...
Just Syslog?
