While fishing the Stilly this fall a buddy of mine was throwing his line out
and it didn't come down where he had intended it to. While he was trying to
figure out where in the hell it went, his reel started humming as an in
flight Merganzer stripped his spool clean without missing a wing beat.
I live on Fort Lewis and am planning to drive to The Ford tomorrow, anyone
interested in riding along? I would like to leave early (4-430) and fish
until about 4 pm. If interested you can reach me on my cell or reply to the
e-mail, cell # (253) 677 9766. Paul

fewyears ago while fishing in the Kamloops area I was fishing the
shoreline of the lake with a small dry fly. All of a sudden my fly didn't land
on the water at the end of the cast but intead when sideways for several feet! A

If I had to guess, the Trust will set up public access. Note that they are
going to continue to selectively log the area, but there will be no further
development for housing and such. I think, all things considered that this
will be beneficial in the end.

I sent an email to the Seattle Times reporter who wrote this
morning's tree farm sale article wondering about continuing
recreational access. Looks like I wasn't the only reader who was
concerned.
As Eric suggests, I'll contact the Conservancy with a query. I'll

Mike,
No question at all that the prospective sale would be of tremendous
pubic benefit. My earlier posts reflected my own selfish interests
rather than the larger good such a buffer would provide to prevent
further eastward sprawl.

I fished the outgoing tide from 10-12:30 today and walked and fished about a
mile of beach total but got no takers and saw no fish out and about near the
surface. Beat the heck out of sitting inside all day though and is probably
my last chance to get out for a while now.

This might be an interesting deal to watch. If you listen to certain land
rights folks, the greens are trying to block public access to all public lands.
It will be a new era to see how a land trust manages 100,000 acres of land.

I also have had the experience of a couple of dragonflies sampling my flies. Also a large bullfrog, which thankfully was a long distance release.

I've got a few rules I go by.
The first one is inviolate: If I am shown or told about a spot by
someone else who asks me not to say anything. I don't. Period. I don't
even take anyone to the spot unless I have been given permission.
The next situations I'm listing vary as to, 1. Who I am
A couple of years ago, when they planted triploid rainbows, I was
trolling Green Lake with bead-head woolly buggers (green and maroon) on
a full sinking line (type III) around Duck Island and hooked about an
