Hi Mac
No probs about borrowing scanner but if you don't mind, I'd prefer if you
could come during the week days, if that's OK?
I work from home so am here most days.
Let me know which day /time suits. I'm out Monday morning til 11am.

Thanks Denise, your suggestion is appreciated but I don't want to go
down the Parallels path and would really just like something else
that is Mac friendly. I know iPhoto should be the answer but for
whatever reason, at least for me, it is not.

Laura

Hi Laura
Another one worth looking at might be Picasa (by Google).
Have a look at here:-

You can download it for free.

You can also link it into iPhoto with a plugin as well.

Hi Laura, I know what you mean about trying to create albums in
iphoto, but can't see that Picasa (which I use as a quick and dirty
way of organising and viewing photos after importing them into Adobe
bridge) makes albums, etc. directly.

Try this:
Go to Macintosh HD / Library / Scripts / Mail Scripts / Address
Importers / Entourage.scpt
I used it many years ago and I assume it still works. Good luck

Export the Entourage Address Book as a text file and then import it.

I am trying to add a new email address to my address book and using
add sender. does not work.
The main address book itself is scrambled and I would prefer
alphabetical - that must be simple but its eluding me!

We have a G5 that now has a blank screen 10.4.(latest cannot see)
there is obviously something wrong
tried reset PRam, disconnected reconnected, checked drives in Target

dead graphics card.
I would appreciate any ideas.

Hi Bill, I noticed my address book looked scrambled too. I went to
preferences and check 'last name before first name', and it is now in
alphabetical order. So that's a possibility to try. The default was
'first name before last'.
From Mail, I just added your address to my address book by

what sort of screen is it
in case of lcd , get a torch check if you can see the 'desktop'
after boot (does the g5 boots up???)
in case of old picture tube style, the power supply may have died
connecting another screen could solve your problem temporarely

Thank you both for your suggestions of Snapfish and Picasa. At first
glance the former looks the most appealing but I'll investigate both.
It's also a comfort to know I am not the only one who has had
problems with creating a book in iPhoto.
My project is a Birthday Book

Tom, I'd try booting up with another screen to find out whether its
your G5 or the screen that has the problem. Susan

Yes, I'd agree with Susan here - try to narrow down the problem.
If you don't have another screen to try, can you find another computer to
try your screen on.
If another screen works on your G5, it points to a problem with your
screen.
If another (known working) screen doesn't work on
Hi
I know this seems so simple as to be stupid, but I had the same
problem the other day and all it was was the brightness control on the
side of the screen had been moved to blank out the screen. How I don't
know, but it happened.

What size Apple monitor? I had a blank screen problem recently with a
20 Apple monitor, and apparently it was caused by the monitor's power
source. Technicians at Macworx described this monitor as being more
'touchy' than other brands. It turned out there was nothing wrong
