Thanks Paul,
Is it not a fact that I should see a response from the sound level meter in the

Hi Walter,
Yes that is true, regardless of those software being installed.
If you switch the input to Internal Microphone (if it actually has
one) you will then see a response on the meter as you speak.
You would also be able to record that input using Audacity, Quicktime,
Wiretap etc.

Ken,
If you want to make it harder for people to send email under your
name, you should investigate setting up an SPF record for your domain.

Not all mail gateways implement SPF, but a lot do.

Hi All
Just a bit of an FYI for all members who are wondering why we get so grumpy at
HTML mail and attachments to this list...
The email Ken mistakenly sent through was roughly 7MB. There are roughly 500
people subscribed to this list.
7MB * 500 = 3.5GB.
One email... generated 3.5
If you still have the original message you can see who actually sent

That's my fault... Although it is being actively worked on. Unfortunately the
interim software we are using for the list doesn't support a few needed
features. The new platform is based on good ol' Mailman, and should have all it

Hi Wendy,
Have a look at this link :
http://www.cinemablend.com/technology/Airplane-Mode-Not-A-Guarantee-For-iPhone-Use-6801.html
In theory any wireless communications are disabled in this mode, but that
doesn't mean this has been accepted by all the authorities.
From a physics perspective
Their response seems daft, clearly no calls will come in when a phone is in
'airplane mode' as there is no service available. I does indeed make it into an
ipod.
I wonder if any of the more technical types on the list have any idea what this
government department means.
Susan.

Hi Dan
Thanks very much for the info on these new machines. They do sound
pretty impressive.
A 512gb solid state drive!! Wow that is amazing. Do you know of any
feed back on these drives?
Also, a choice between a glossy and anti-glare LED backlit display.
These are all new to me Dan!
It was a good crane movie though. Where was it?
