Yes, some express cards require you power the card down from the little Card
icon in the top right menu.
This stops drawing power/info from the card before then ejecting it.
Otherwise some cards do Kernal panic the machine.
Better to do it that way generally anyway.

yes you can, you may have to format/initialize anyway if you want to use mac

I got most of that but tap My Documents has me stumped as I don't seem to
have such a folder on the iPad and while I can put files on the iPad vis iTunes
