I have now updated using the combo update. There were no problems and the
whole exercise took about 20 minutes. I have no idea what happened last time
when completion had not occurred after over an hour.

What sort of settings on the D70? If you shoot RAW then they'll need
manipulating. Everything else should work (from memory I think JPEG was the
only other option)

Thanks very much Ronni, that did the trick. I found that the second
option, pasting into a plain TextEdit document, was better for me. The
first option, turning off hyperlinks, did work OK, but it left the
former links underlined in blue, which was a bit confusing.
