I am not sure what is going wrong. You seem to be acting correctly. There are a
number of knowledge base articles on the subject and I will give you links
below.
Use Article 1 below to verify that you, in fact, need to update -- chances are
you do as the Software Update application
I just used this to check my phone number for service possibilities.
It states that because I am on the Midland exchange ADSL2+ is available.
I know for a fact that because I am in Jane Brook I am on a sub-exchange of
Midland
that only has standard ADSL available.

A quick search through my WAMUG records and looks like it has been Calendar
year 1 Jan to 31 Dec.
Would you good to get confirmation on this from the Secretary of WAMUG.
