There are lots of web sites which will give advice on this topic, for example:

 http://www.tutorialspoint.com/html/html_embed_multimedia.htm

Looking at a few of them tells you that, like many things, it is not as simple 
as it might seem, and the best way to go depends on your target audience, how 
much effort you want to put in, and so on.

Your code uses a hyperlink, albeit inside some javascript. The first site above 
says that this approach depends on helper applications - I wonder whether 
everyone would have such an application on their computer, or they may have 
different ones from what you have.

Anyway, you could convert your files to a different format (MP4 might be worth 
a go) and see if that makes a difference. But always remember that with 
anything a bit complex in a web page, what you see may not be what the rest of 
the world sees.

I would have tried it on my computer, but our connection speed is so slow out 
here that we get tired of waiting for anything to happen with movie files.

Thanks for the comments, Neil.  
I can include the player controller to give access to full screen mode.  
I am loath to involve another server, no positive reason, just a wish to be as 
self-contained as possible.

I watch a lot of streaming video on a variety of sites. My first
impressions:

* In either firefox or safari, clicking the QT preview image opens another
small window to play the movie in ­ why do this, why not embed whatever
player you use directly in the page?
* With either browser there is no option to ³full-screen² the video ­ I
always ³full-screen any video I think is worth watching!
* A lot of quite large websites use either YouTube or Vimeo to present
videos. The video is hosted on their website and you embed the YouTube or
Vimeo player in your website (eg where the QT preview icon is currently.
Some examples (which all allow expanding the video to full-screen):

Hi Alan,

My Mail Preferences have NOT changed since installing OS X 10.9.2 update.
Are you having any problems with one or both mail accounts since installing the 
update?

"TLS Certificate  - Transport Layer Security (TLS)

Use a TLS certificate for security. Some POP and IMAP mail servers require 
computers that connect to them to provide a certificate proving their identity."

It has nothing to do with iCloud as Apple's Mail servers do not use a TLS 
Certificate for authentication.

This is actually a generic setting in Mail that can be applied to any Mail 
server you have configured. It is used for client authentication as an 
additional layer of security if your mail server happens to require it (most do 
not -- it tends to be used only in corporate environments).  Think of it as an 
additional password, basically.

This setting has no bearing on whether your actual IMAP or SMTP sessions with 
the server are encrypted or not; that is controlled by the "Use SSL" settings 
found on the "Advanced" page (for IMAP connections) and on the individual SMTP 
server configurations for outgoing Mail (you can access these by clicking on 
the drop-down list of Outgoing Mail Servers and choosing "Edit SMTP Server 
List."   
As long as "Use SSL" is enabled, your IMAP and SMTP sessions are encrypted.

Note that the TLS Certificate option only appears if you have a valid 
certificate in your OS X Keychain that could be used for this purpose; the 
option is hidden otherwise which likely explains why it is not appearing on my 
MacBook Pro OS X 10.9.2

So to answer your question "Should the TLS certificate be selected/activated 
for each mail account?"
I don't know
You are seeing '“TLS Certificate = none” 
Click the drop-down for TLS Certificate... and see if there is anything there 
to select.

I would not change anything if your Mail Accounts are behaving correctly!

Hi Stephen, as she uses a Samsung smartphone I would suggest a Samsung tablet. 
Learning a whole new way of doing things is too challenging for an older person 
I think. And a Samsung tablet will do everything she wants. The touch interface 
is just as good as on Apple tablets. It's important that it meshes with her

My mother was of similar age and was reluctant to purchase or upgrade anything 
even though she had the money, so the trick was to say that things were cheaper 
then they were then make up the difference.

An iPad for my 94 year old mother ?

Hi folks,

My 94 year old mother uses email, internet and has a smart phone (unfortunately 
a Samsung).
In fact does all her banking online and also uses Skype.
She also uses Windoze because I haver a “backward” brother who tells her how 
bad Apple products are.

Because her spine has become so badly curved now her head points at the ground.
This has made it very difficult for her to view her PC screen.

I have suggested that she buy an iPad 2 (while they are still around and at a 
good price).
She has WiFi so this is not an issue.
She could use it flat on the table without raising her head.
I also have to convince her that it is far more user friendly.

The only thing I am not sure of is printing documents ?
She likes to type letters, which could be done using Pages on the iPad.
She has an older model Samsung Mono Laser Printer which I doubt has WiFi.
Is there any way to print her documents from the iPad to this printer without 
buying something new ?

I looked very hard for the original email but couldn’t find it; it would have 
been about 7 or 8 years ago, different computer, different backup disk. Since 
it has been such a long time, several different OSs intervening, I have decided 
to cough up again for it and make sure, this time, that I keep the records 
available.

(It didn’t make any difference whether I pressed the TAB key or the RETURN key, 
and the Pro features are still greyed out when the file is loaded in the player 
window.)

USB Ports

Hi All,

Is there a way to reset the USB port address to 1. I can do it by
restarting the computer but that seems to be the hard way. It gets reset to
usually port 3 if I (accidentally) disconnect the Arduino that is normally
connected there.

Thanks for your advice.   As I have followed your advice in the past I actually 
did as you suggest with the exception I down loaded the update from the App 
store.  I am aware that the update can take a while to complete,  but over an 
hour?   I will try again later in the week using the combo update,  meanwhile I 
have reinstalled 10.9 from my thumb drive and all appears well.

Hi Barry,

When the computer restarts after downloading the update, and the Apple log 
appears & spinning 'cog' gear...  indicates that installation is happening. My 
Combo installation took 10mins to complete.

I installed the OS X 10.9.2 Update (Combo) this morning without any problems. 
I always download the Combo Update and install OS X updates this way:

1. Repair Permissions
2. Install the Combo Update
3. After installation completes I run Software Update (install anything that 
appears)
4. Repair Permissions

I would suggest you do the above.

Hi David,

Turn OFF  hyperlinking for all URL's in your document in the same Inspector 
window (the one with the white arrow on a blue circle).
select 'Make all hyperlinks inactive'

Does that achieve what you want?

Or - If you don't care about losing some of the formatting of the content that 
you are transferring, you can first ‘Paste And Match Style’ into a ‘plain text’ 
TextEdit document and then copy from there into your Pages doc.

Links don't survive Paste and Match Style in TextEdit, as they do in Pages.
