Hi Peter,

To stop iTunes from opening automatically when you connect your iPhone, open
iTunes and then go to Preferences by using keyboard shortcut Command-comma or
by going to iTunes > Preferences. Next, click the Devices tab and then check
the box for Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically

2019-08-27 Thread Ronni Brown
Hi Stephen,

How to Stop Photos App Launching Automatically in OS X
Connect the iPhone, camera, SD card, etc to the Mac and let Photos app launch
itself as usual
Under the ā€œImportā€ tab of Photos app, look in the upper left corner to find the
device name, this will indicate which hardware will no longer automatically
activate Photos app
Click the checkbox so that ā€œOpen Photos for this deviceā€ is no longer selected
(likewise, toggling this on would enable Photos app to open itself again
automatically when this device is connected)
Quit out of Photos app, the change is immediate for that device ā€“ this can be
switched back at any time in the same OS X Photos app screen

Ronni

Hi Bill,

If you want to avoid similar problems in the future you should be able to set
photos to NOT open automatically when you plug in something that would
otherwise trigger it (card/camera/phone/ipad).

music etc but preferred to use image capture rather than the Photos app to
manage my photos. It used to annoy me that Photos would open every time I
plugged the phone in ā€“ so I found the setting to switch it off.

Of course, you might prefer photos to open automatically - in which case I

We all have our own ways of how we like to do these things ā€“ but I just thought
Iā€™d mention it.

Do you have a USB or SD card connected that contains photos?
