Gosh Peter ! You make me wonder about upgrading my MS Office in the future. I used to use Pages and Numbers years ago, but moved to Office because of the incompatibilities. But from what you say it sounds like things have changed from that point of view. Thank you for your input. > On 30 Mar

No problem Stephen. This problem for me was triggered by my wife's need for Excel and her MBP failing and in upgrading from that phase I went to a barely used 2016 MBP - which I knew would necessitate some sort of MS Office solution for her (as Big Sur is incompatible with the MS Office 2008 (!!!)

Hi Pete, OK you bit the bullet. Being retired, I don’t have the option of employee discount OR tax deductibility – but even at Officeworks $113 to renew for a year, I reckon I can afford 30c/day! $55 sounds like more than a 30% discount – presumable that’s also after the tax

Yes, indeed Jewels. The one off license is now $199, I would be up for 1 now and another soon I suspect, but I eventually decided to go with Office 365 (family - 6 users) but my employer is an MS user and via that as an employee i am eligible for a 30% ongoing annual discount. So deal is done.

Hello fellow Wamuggers, Thank you for your replies. Stephen, I have spent time on the Epson Web Site and “Contact us”, goes to which Country or district are you from, nowhere does it mention Australia, Oceania, or the USA, so it is a little frustrating that I can’t actually reach Epson on

Hi Pete, As I mentioned last time, despite a long-held preference for stand-alone software and an aversion to subscription models, I finally decided that a family MS365 subscription was the best for Georgie & I. Other factors which came into play - the one subscription covers: up to 6

Hi Marcus and All, Out of principles I have been using Apple’s equivalents and also LibreOffice, the latter specially for my spreadsheets, ever since I became aware of the MS' cut-down version of Excel for Mac. It looks like Bill Gates’ method of running down Apple is still being used by MS!

Hi Neil, yes I agree with your comments below. My deal was 30% off the regular Microsoft price of $129 I think brought it down to $90 odd. Then with tax deductibility down to $55 there abouts. Happy with that. The discount continues as well for all years I remain subscribed. Regards Pete >
