And my 6s shows 88% and does the same thing. I still intend to visit the Apple Store with this issue. Just have not made it there yet. And my wife’s iPhone 5 shows 70 something. And it does the same thing. I have to check my battery charge level before bed each night. If it is below 60% I leave

I shut down my iPhone 6 at bedtime each night and reopen it in the morning. Often, though not always, on reopening it will come up with the dead battery symbol despite having been put to sleep with 40% or more showing. A fresh attempt at restart may or may not yield success. Several others
