Pacific PUD is build out right now in Bay Center. They claim they are
just extending their fiber. There are two other areas in this county
I have targeted, and they have grants are ready to do the work. I already
said I will go to Olympia with you. I did it before. I'll do it again. I'm just
no good in writing my script of what to day other than tell the lawmakers
if they allow this it will put me out of business in this county.

So yeah, I'm in. You know that.

Subject: [Washington] OK so you don't care then?

Greetings,

Months ago I sent out a bill to watch, one that brought Net Neutrality to
Washington State in what, if you read the bill, is nothing more than massive
regulations for our industry and the state picking winners and losers over an
Interstate product that they have no authority over. I got responses from two
WISP's yet there are over 100 people on this list, I figured you were going to
contact your legislators on your own. Apparently you didn't care because it
passed the house 95-4 so even the Republicans in your districts supported it.

I've already announced I will financially support anyone who opposes my house
members based on voting for a bill that proves they don't support small
business, I know they didn't read it or they would've seen the new regulations
in an unenforceable bill that none of us can afford to challenge now that it's
a state mandate. In addition voting for this gives Governor Inslee the chops
to brag how he passed the toughest Net Neutrality bill in the United States
when he runs for President.

Basically I'm saying here that I have done my job as state coordinator to
educate you and prepare you to have stopped this from the very beginning, now
it's too late. Apathy is deadly for your business and while we are all very
busy building our businesses this bill badly hurts us. If you still care there
is still a bill out there allowing PUD's and Port districts to do retail
Internet right over the top of you.

Sorry I'm frustrated that you aren't taking this seriously, look what you ended
up with.

broadband and advanced telecommunications services.

Sponsors:Sheldon

The same guys who have pushed every bill that would have government take
over the Internet.  This has already passed the Senate and is in the
House right now;

SB 5935-S2.E - DIGEST (AS OF SENATE 2ND READING 2/14/18) Creates the
governor's office on broadband access within the department of commerce,
and with the mission of improving economic vitality, health care access,
and education through greater access to broadband services. Requires the
office to: (1) In collaboration with the utilities and transportation
commission, the office of the chief information officer, and the
community economic revitalization board, serve as the coordinating body
for public and private efforts to ensure statewide broadband access and
deployment; (2) Be responsible for all matters regarding the adoption of
statewide broadband access and deployment; (3) Establish a competitive
grant program to assist qualified local governments and tribes to build
infrastructure for open access, high speed broadband services; (4) Study
taxes imposed on the capital costs associated with providing retail
broadband service, including sales and use taxes; (5) Develop a small
cell facility deployment permitting model ordinance for cities and
towns; and (6) Consult with cities, counties, and service providers when
developing the model ordinance. Authorizes the office to convene an
advisory group to: (1) Make recommendations on developing a statewide
rural broadband strategy to ensure broadband access statewide by January
1, 2026; and (2) Conduct a gap analysis on the deployment of broadband
services in underserved and unserved areas of the state. Creates the
broadband access account and requires expenditures from the account to
only be used for the expansion of broadband access.

This has already passed both chambers and the Governor will likely sign it.

Extends, to all ports in the state, the existing telecommunications
authority in order to facilitate publicprivate partnerships in wholesale
telecommunications services and infrastructure.
