Eric, Thanks for the info on Herb! I wonder about the other, uncredited, musicians who played incidental and 'bit pieces' on TAGS, as well - the rest of the band that plays with Jim Lindsay when he's in prison (the bass/rhythm and horns) isn't too shabby, either! :-) Then on the composer side,

Oh, Ken, I agree 100%! I grew up in the 60's and also remember the safety and security of my small town. I raised my girls in that same area in the 80's and they had some of the electronal marvels but still had the benefits of playing outdoors without threat of danger from some interloper.

All this additional info on Herb Eliis has got me intrigued and possibly confused. Was Herb Ellis an actor besides a great guitarist-or are they two different people?? I did see him play on the Christmas Sanford and Son as their guitar playing landlord back in the 70's and remember his name on

I recently got a Dean Martin CD, and he sings Santa Lucia. As soon as I Heard It, I thought of Barney's version. I Looked It Up, and I didn't realize that It'd been around since the mid 1800's. J.D. ___ WBMUTBB mailing list

Herb Ellis? Don't think so
