Paul Harvey's The Rest of the Story

2009-03-23 Thread Keith Miles
Thanks for the link to the Paul Harvey Rest of the Story about Mt. Airy.  I had not heard that one.  When I listen to the Rest of the Story programs, it's always fun to try to figure out who the subject is before the end of the program--the Mt. Airy story would have been one we would have all

Do you remember the guy that played the leader of the bowling team that played against the Mayberry team? Is he the same guy that played Tom Strongbow, the Indian? With that horrible make-up job... -- Ted (Theodoric of York) Oh, stewardess. I speak Jive.

Are there any trained noticers out there would know the answer to this one.In the first season episode Stranger In Town, Floyd is played by someone other than Howard McNear. I was wondering why that gentleman played Floyd for just that one episode. Somehow Mayberry wouldn't have been the

Beevee

2009-03-23 Thread castone59
the hierachy of Irish names: Beevee would be the original family name. His son would be Mac Beevee (mac being son). The Scots keep the MAC, but the Irish shorten it to Mc and his son would be O'Beevee (grandson or descendant of Beevee). Don't tell Earnest T., but Bass is originally an Englisher

Floyd's hair

2009-03-23 Thread colonialcott...@netzero.net
Floyd gave himself a touch-up to cover the gray. One never knows when Madelyn Grayson might come to visit. Wretch, deceitful wretch! TV Land is showing the first season of Andy this weekend and I got to noticing that Floyd's hair had a lot more gray in it during the first few shows he was in.

Unresolved Epilogues

epilogues

Some very astute observations about the nature of unresolved epilogues and the suspension of disbelief they entail. I think my favorite of these is at the end of The loaded goat when Andy leads the goat over the hill while Barney plays that soothing harmonica solo! It leaves a somewhat poignant
