Does anyone recall an episode where divorce is mentioned?I can think of
possibly one.
Aunt Bee said said that Steve Quincy's mother had remarried. It was not clear if
she had
been divorced or widowed.

To Larry in Lincolnton. Where is Lincolnton? Is that where James Best lives
since you saw him there at the doctor's office?
Just curious. Curious. Curious.

I watched an Episode this weekend with my daughter and we noticed a
couple of things.
1) This was an episode about Andy's love life, and getting a new
girlfriend, that Barney was NOT involved in. This is when he gets
serious about Peggy. In The County Nurse (where Peggy first appears
and
I was watching One-Punch Opie Sunday and a question re-arose that's
been preyin' on my mind for years. I've always thought that one of the
boys looks a whole lot like Larry Mondello of Leave it to Beaver (actor
Rusty Stevens). I've never been able to train these eagle eyes on the
character enough
Barney wished Mrs. Mendelbright's upcoming marriage to Mr. Fields would end in
a quickie Mexican divorce...of course, the marriage never took place, so that
may not count. But the word was mentioned.

Although Opie's friend looks a lot like Larry Mondello (same build, hair, ball
cap, clothes) it couldn't have been Rusty Stevens as Opie's friend. Larry
Mondello was approximately the same age as Jerry Mathers (born in 1948). Ron
Howard was born in 1953. Opie's friend was not 14 years old in
That's a great trivia question David. Even though I'm old I've never watched
Benji so I had to look it up. Since I cheated I won't reveal the answer.

That's really cool that you saw James Best in the Doctors office. When I went
to Mayberry Days, I bought his book and was going to take a picture of him
signing it but he said it bothered his eyes and he was waiting on his surgery
date. Sure hope he is doing well!

Hi Everyone,
I just got back from my weekend in Mount Airy.
I had a great time as usual. I could not believe it was so hot. It was 86.
Everyone said this was 20 degrees higher than normal for April.
And I am happy to report that our beloved statue looked good as new! All the
flowers were
HI Gang!!
No, I didn't look it up, lol
The movie Benji question was a good one. In fact there were three TAGS
characters. The ones in question were Frances Bavier and Edger Buchanan.
Also in that episode was Herb Vigran (the Bookie Barber) playing the police
Lt. who was investigating the
To Bee in New Concord, OH: Wow! A question from the digest! I'll have to act
like somebody from now on. James Best's home is located in Hickory, NC
in the Bethlehem community. Being an avid fisherman, it's on the shores of Lake
Hickory. Lincolnton is a small town kinda' between Charlotte and
Hey, Mayberry Friends. My granddaughter's fourth grade class is visiting
Raleigh in a few weeks and I'm making as many TAGS references as I can. I hope
she visits the state aquarium. They once had a silver carp there caught in
Mayberry, NC by Howard Sprague. I've heard he's since been released.
The only time I can remember divorce being mentioned was when Charlene tricked
Andy and Barney into helping her put the proceedin's in the ground.

I made a mistake about season 1 and women in the barber shop. Yes, Mary
Wiggins is the first in Beauty pageant. But, I believe Ellie went inside with
Mayberry on record. My question in this episode is the band playing Whoa Mule,
with Andy, just who were they?
And, in Benji I know Aunt
Now you went and got me all confused, Paul. I searched the archives and found
this posting of yours in the April 1, 2004 digest: I never shared this before
but Herb Ellis is my uncle. I have really fond memories of playing with my
cousin Herbie Jr at my Uncle Herb's house and recording
This may have been brought up before but I have never heard of it. In
episode six ( Ellie comes to town) Andy went to pay his bill and he said it was
$3.23 but he rang up $1.23. Has anybody ever noticed this? Just wondering.
Maybe Andy could get Ernest T ti help him! Mike The Scamp
