I caught an episode of Bat Masterson this morning, but I can't watch Gene Barry
anymore without thinking about James Best's story of working with Barry and
threatening to whomp him for the way Barry talked to him. Somehow, that made
Bat seem less of a heroic figure.

I would like to wish all our wonderful Digest family a very happy Easter. I
wish TAGS would have had an Easter episode. Perhaps Ernest T. would have come
into town and instead of throwing rocks he would have thrown eggs at all the
windows. The Mayberry Band could have led a parade down

Happy Easter to all! Ken I liked your idea for an Easter episode...especially
the egg throwing by Ernest T. What a great episode that would've been!

Dan, I'm shocked to hear about Gene Barry mistreating our James Best. Way
back in 1969 I was fortunate to attend a taping of the shows meant for our
military forces serving overseas (they were called Operation: Entertainment,
if memory serves me); I was working at NAS Memphis at the time. I met
Ken, I just love it when you let your imagination run wild. You would have
made a good writer for TAGS. However, you did leave a couple of people out.
Miss Clara could have made all of the chocolate candies for the children
and Opie could have snuck a few too many and gotten sick. But
If my mind didn't fail me, I do believe that Charlene's Wedding Dress was her
mothers. I remember Briscoe saying to Charlene that she looked as pretty as
your Ma did when she got married in that dress. I beg to differ that it was
Charlene's mothers dress, but Barney did wear it too! But
Hey, Mayberry friends. Today, a beautiful Easter Sunday morning. Got a new
shirt and tie, went to church, had a great dinner with the family, turned on
the TV to find a TAGS marathon on TV Land. That made the day perfect.
Like Ken, I wish there had been an Easter episode of TAGS. The Christmas
I forgot the peace de resistance for Easter in Mayberry. Aunt Bee could have
made colored Easter pickles for all the kids in town.

Thanks Ken for that wonderful Easter episode. Perhaps you could re-enact it at
Mayberry days. I wonder if I could borrow Andy's tie with horses on it( I'll
take the key chain too) and Goober's mimi tire cuff liks. Maybe you can get
Freddy Fleet to help out with the band, if Barney and Gomer
I recently saw an episode of The Rifleman. It featured a very young Denver

any facial hair.Like I said,a much younger Briscoe, but the unique voice was his
early beginning
trademark.
Also saw an episode of The Waltons. It featured Frank Ferguson(Charlie
