Saw Malcombe Merriwether this morning as a hotel clerk in a Robert Goulet movie named Honeymoon Hotel. So, apparently, Malcombe did have some marketable skills when he came through Mayberry, over and above Falconer, but I guess Jason wasn't about to give up his job at the hotel. dan

TAGS fans,   My word of the day from Merriam Webster today was nugatory\NOO-guh-tor-ee\adjective\of little or no consequence : trifling, inconsequential.  All I could think of when I read it was the great Indian Chief from the Mayberry Centennial Pageant Nugatuck.  So, would we say Nugatuck

Hi Fellow Mayberrians, Recently, I purchased the first season of Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. and was happily amazed to see how many Maryberrians had traveled all the way to Camp Henderson, CA. I noticed Asa played a 'listening ear' to Gomer's love letter writing escapades and E.T.B's Romina had

Janet came up with the correct answer. In the 1948 movie Sitting Pretty our very own Thelma Lou played a 16 year old girl who was a babysitter. When she had the party, she and her boyfriend were dancing exactly the way Gomer and Mary Grace were dancing. Maybe Thelma Lou taught Gomer

I gave it a good think under my bucket and believe it was Betty Lynn (our own Thel) who played Clifton Webb's daughter in Cheaper By the Dozen (an oldie but goodie). And as a double Mayberry connection, the movie co-starred Myrna Loy, whose picture was found in Wayne Deveraux's suit to be cleaned
