A great prelude to Mayberry Days in September is Life's Lessons
One character I remember is the man who owned the big house they tried to use
for the summit conference when Barney worked in Raleigh. Can't remember the
character's name but Barney use to play games in his front yard and he thought
he'd remember him as the 'scamp'. Anyway, that man was
The other night I was watching Wagon Train (yeah, Wagon Train!) on the Encore
Westerns channel and who should be on there, but our Daphne, Jean Carson!
Uncle Ollie was on the same episode, as a 'bad guy'. You just never know where
the TAGS alums are going to show up next.

Greeting fellows TAGS people!
I have a question - does anyone know of a source of audio versions of episodes
of TAGS? I know a lot of us have seen the shows so many times that we don't
need to see the video portion to get a lot out of the shows. I have a couple
cassette versions of the
I'm glad I'm not the only one to use the line, Sure, Mike Sure. That is my
standard line when someone tries to convince me of something! 99 times out of
a 100, they have no clue what I am talking about. I'm glad you folks do!!
And on your questions, it would have been good to make the
The only thing about the Mayberry/Hooterville crossover is, those 2 shows took
totally different approaches. Green Acres was kind of the anti-Andy Griffith
Show. Andy and other cast members always make the point that TAGS wasn't about
jokes, it was about developing characters and the love
I came across this video and thought our group would enjoy it. Matt Lauer did
an interview with Andy and Don back in 1996, on the Today Show:

looked like a bluegrass band of the time. Anyone know who they were? This was

I have a couple more weather related episodes.
1. When Barney was suspicious of the guy hurrying in and out of town (thought
he was hiding someone with a bullet in him) and it turned out his wife was
having a baby and he had to work the fields at night because of all the rain.
2. When the

There is another episode where Mr. Scwhamp is wearing a hat. In the episode
where they put up a statue in honor of Andy and Aunt Bee's relative (The Statue
- 1967), when they are addressing the big crowd, Mr. Scwhamp is BOTH in the
crowd and up near the stage in the same scene!! So its a
The only thing I would disagree on, would be they did have more than one gas
station attendant - Gomer and Goober. The same thing could have happened to
Goober that happened to Warren, but I guess Goober was a strong enough
character that he made the cut. Although I've got to say, Goober was
I was watching the episode, Mayberry on Record last night and at the end of
the show, the record promoter brings in the album they have made called Music
From Mayberry. Does anyone know if that that record album cover was kept and
if it exists in someone's Mayberry collection? Just curious.
I was watching the episode, Helen's Past the other night, and I noticed that
when the head of the school board comes out to Goober's garage, there is a
chain link fence, with an open gate in the background behind the garage. Any
idea what that was back there?

I was watching Howard, the Bowler the other night and wondered if that was
the episode we were introduced to Emmett Clark. Was that his first episode?
Also, was the fix-it shop in the same location as Floyd's Barbershop? Were

I've been watching the color episodes on TVLand the last couple weeks and you
always observe something new when you are watching the show for the 10,000th

fills the spot of Barney as the one person that can make Andy

For the first time, I live close enough (live in Lebanon, NH now) to actually

I have been getting into watching the Mayberry RFD episodes lately. I know
they are not the same quality and don't have the same chemistry as the bw
