Allan, thanks so much for this year's edition of the e-card from the Newsome
family. I enjoy it every year. That was some fine singing you did there,
Allan. I didn't know you had such a high roof to your mouth!

I just sent a message to the digest, replying to Brad's posts about
Mayberry, WV. Unfortunately, I hit send too quickly and forgot to delete
the message I was replying to (the entire digest email)! So sorry!

Brad/Neil Bentley, you pose an interesting question. I was born and raised
in WV, but had never heard of a Mayberry in WV myself. Well, as Opie would
say, it was preying on my mind. I used mapquest to see if there was a
Mayberry. Mapquest didn't find a Mayberry, but it did find a Mayberry Run.
Actually, Sabraton was mentioned by Barney once, not Saverton. Sabraton is
a suburb of Morgantown, WV, which is Don Knotts' hometown.

inspected the damage. My back door out to my deck has a large window in

Another interesting fact about that particular bowl game...Andy's Alma Mater

Aunt Bee, I have also experienced missing digests. However, I don't
realize I've missed one until I see a reply to a previous post that I

I'd have to say my favorite season is Season 4. The reason I pick that
season is because of the pairing of Barney and Gomer in several story lines.
Of course, that came about due to Howard McNear's illness, but there were
several very funny episodes as a result. Going back to the favorite quotes

I heard on the local evening news this evening that Earle Hagen passed away
on Monday. What a musical talent! I'm sure he's accompanying Barney on

Well,
Thanks, Allan, for posting a test message. I was about to send a message
to the digest myself, just to see if I received it.
Hopefully, my note of thanks will make it into the digest!

I think the book The Incredible Mr. Don Knotts sounds like it will be a
fascinating read. I hope Weaver's will be able to carry it when it's
published.
Also, thanks Allan, for your tireless work in getting everything back to
normal in digest-land. It looks like everything is OK in Mayberry!
Paul, I respectfully disagree. I check my personal email several times a
day from work, and I use a web browser to do so. I am sporadically
receiving digests, and they aren't appearing on the web view OR my email
client on my home PC.
I think the server has a hitch in its get-along.

It makes me wonder if, as Andy aged, maybe his whole personality changed
some as displayed in the color shows and in Matlock.
Or maybe it's just the actor in the man! After all, I don't think
