The passing of our town
HI all... Just in case some of you did not notice we have lost 2 cast members this year... Dabbs Greer (90) Counsilman dobbs and Charles Lane (102) who played Mr. Frisbee. both of these men had long hollywood careers. I never met either onebut I would have jumped at the chance. We can all imagine them being welcomed into the town that is in heaven again in a small place known as Mayberry. In case, you do not know, you can go to Mayberry.com and click on cast members birthdays this will also show the date members have passed away also, mayberry's Midwest Mocha momma ( who one day will be a crossing guard in Mayberry), Erin - Building a website is a piece of cake. Betty Lynn
iI assume her last name was Lou. Why not? On That Girl Anne Marie's lats name was Marie so why couldn't Thelma Lou's lats name be Lou?/i b And Betty Lynn's last name was Lynn! We don't go around wondering what Betty Lynn's last name was, did we! ;o) /b ** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://wbmutbb.com/mailman/listinfo/wbmutbb_wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Mystery of the Two Juanitas
I am going out on a limb to speculate that there were indeed TWO Juanitas. First, there was Juanita Beasley who worked out at the Junction Cafe (where all the truck drivers go) and there was the Juanita down at the Bluebird Diner. Now everyone (including those writing books) contend the same Juanita worked first at the Junction and then at the Bluebird. Not so, say I. It is my firm belief that while Barney called on both of them from time to time, the Juanita who worked at the Bluebird was Juanita Pike (the Mayor's daughter). Please...PROVE ME WRONG! I have hired an investigator from Raleigh to look into the whole matter. Dave Strang Natural law, tooth and claw. (Briscoe Darling) - Sick sense of humor? Visit Yahoo! What Does This Mean?????????????????
I got this message three times. All I can say is OH LAND Mike This is from the episode MIND OVER MATTER, where Goober thinks his back is hurt. When Opie and Aunt Bee are trying to help him into her car to take him to their house, he keeps saying what sounds like, OH LAND, OH LAND! So I put the tv on closed captioning and sure enough it had him saying that. What does that mean? I have heard people say LAND A GOSHEN or MY LANDS to express excitement, but OH LAND Any ideas? He says it right when Aunt Bee is trying to get him into her car. ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://wbmutbb.com/mailman/listinfo/wbmutbb_wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Nice stories
Ken, I enjoyed your reunion story, and Chuck, your accident story. It is really great when we experience Mayberry-like events or people first hand. Ken, did you forget anyone and have to look them up in the yearbook?? ( ha ha--I always thought that was such a stretch for a small town) Chuck, I had a similar experience about 8-10 years ago when our car broke down in a small town in Ohio. The manager of the garage that kept it overnight actually lent us a car to use so we could get to a hotel and go out to eat. We also had offers to spend the night in a home or two. The spirit of Mayberry still exists!!! (but what about Count Istvan Teleckly?) The Untrained Voice With no last name, just like Thelma Lou (Betty Lynn mentioned that she never was given a last name or a specific job) There were others (minor Characters) with no last name , Sara, Ole Judd... ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://wbmutbb.com/mailman/listinfo/wbmutbb_wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
