I recall the Christmas one where they had an office 'party' and Ben was looking
through the window and got arrested.
I never thought too much about the winter weather, because I figured being in
the Carolinas there was not much chance of snow and ice - maybe I was wrong.

In today's newspaper there was a cartoon labelled The Andy Griffith Show,
2014. It showed a robotic looking policeman with pads on all his exposed body
parts, and a shield over his face, and there was a little boy with a fishing

Anybody got any idea why the squad car's star and the sheriff's office star
(Andy's badge and Barney's badge) look the same(having six points) , but the

the highest honors these days. I agree with you all, and I wrote to TVLAND and
told them I thought their newest shows were not up to the standards set by The

If I'm not mistaken, Nice Dress Nellie is what Andy said to one of the girls
Barney arrested while the Sheriff was out of town. She passed by him and he
remarked Nice dress, Nellie, but nobody ever really saw her - she was just a

Just saw the Dick VanDyke show where Rob has a liberty bell on his back that
the kids drew when they connected the dots of his freckles. Clara Edwards was
in it - she had a dacshhound that would eat anything and was in the office of
the Amazing Oddities with Dick and Laura. Really strange,
I must say I agree with Aunt Bee of Orlando - how many times have I written to
TV stations to ask why they thought it appropriate to air certain
programs, and how many times have they NOT replied? Impossible to say. but I
figured they ought to know my feelings, so I keep writing.
Maybe I was 'seeing things' but didn't I see Floyd Lawson on I LOVE LUCY - he
was leading members of a grade school band into the room and when he got to
Desi Jr. we waited and waited and waited and finally little Desi came in, ran

Not really on the subject, but a comment, nevertheless - I bought some stuff
from Ben Weaver's, but I never got any green stamps!! They must have run out
before the shipment was made. I used to buy everything (groceries, even) from
stores that gave green stamps, and got my dining room set
Has anybody else submitted entries for Andy's stamp portrait? I know I sent
two, but haven't heard a word from them at all. one black and white picture
and another a color shot.
Anybody else have any better luck?

Did anybody ever notice that in The Clubmen, when Andy hid Barn's shoes,
there was no lock on the gun rack? And Barn had been sleeping in the back

I went to the USPS website this morning to see how to get Andy's picture on a
stamp - there's no place for it! Then I went to the Post Office in town and
asked how you could go about it - they hadn't any idea - the fellow said he
didn't know that the USPS was going to put living people's

and my tape machine doesn't work any longer, so I would like some CDs to play

I noticed the other day that when Andy returned from Raleigh and had left
Barney in charge of the office, Barney had arrested practically everybody in
town and when they went to let the folks out of the two cells, there were
miraculously, two key rings. In every other episode I recall there
O Sole Mio was sung at the meeting held to honor Sam for bringing his father
and sister from Italy to Mayberry. Aunt Bee said it was the Italian National
Anthem. Well, it sounded pretty good, but we all know it wasn't the National
Anthem, (or do we?)
I watched that episode of Bonanza - thought I recognized the girl, but she
looked so different!! I felt a little sorry for Adam that he had to stand and
wave at her while her father drove away in the buggy, but I guess he was used
to that kind of treatment... I gather all was not well between
I think the problem with showing brand names on TV is self-explanatory. Even
on Public Television Stations the names of products weren't shown - apparently
the people who sponsored the programs didn't like the idea of showing another
firm's brand name unless they were paid advertisements.
Seems to me that I heard once upon a time that Howard McNear had a stroke, but
Andy, being the gentleman that he was, wanted Howard to be on TAGS as much as
possible.

It has always bothered me - her name was BEATRICE - not BEETRISS. Why did they

A little bit ago someone asked if it was a common thing for folks to send out
laundry. My late husband was a policeman (also a fan of Andy Griffith), and he
insisted that his uniform shirts go to the laundry so they could be pressed
RIGHT! They had to be creased just so, and apparently I
